If Warm Palettes are Your Kryptonite, Lorac's New Launch Was Made For You

Lorac Cosmetics has been in the makeup game for 26 years, having been founded by professional makeup artist Carol Shaw in 1993. Shaw, who has worked with A-listers and icons in her career — including Nicole Kidman, Courtney Love and Goldie Hawn — created Lorac as an extension of her work. She noticed her clients dealt with harsh ingredients in the professional products she used on set, often leading their skin to irritation. Lorac was born out of a need to provide pro-grade products products without sacrificing healthy skin, either.

Professional products differ from traditional makeup in that they are made to be long-lasting on the skin, versatile, lightweight, and reflect true to color on film and in photos. They are made to serve a purpose; before, this meant for a working makeup artist and their clients. Shaw wanted the type of makeup she trusted and used to be accessible to the commercial customer, which is why Lorac has been a favorite of professional makeup artists and beauty editors alike.

When Lorac first launched, it had 31 lipsticks named after celebrities, like Laura (Dern), Goldie (Hawn), Nicole (Kidman). (Excuse us while we pick up those names we dropped.) Now the brand includes the PRO Essentials, UNZipped, Light Source and POREfection, limited-edition collections, and this Fall will launch another: Lux Diamond.

The Lux Diamond Collection includes a 20-pan eye shadow palette, six creme shadow pots and a mascara. The shadows are all infused with what the brand is calling Lux Diamond Dust, which is cosmetic-grade, made with real diamonds and sourced in the United States.
