All the Beauty Brands That Have Temporarily Closed Due to the Coronavirus So Far

As COVID-19 (coronavirus) continues to spread around the world, many brands are beginning to take action in order to keep customers and employees safe. In the beauty industry in particular, a handful of companies have sent out emails and messages to customers updating them on the changes that they've made to their in-store hygiene policies to reduce the risk of spread. Others, particularly those in areas where the outbreaks either are or have the potential to be slightly more severe, have made the difficult decision to close their stores indefinitely due to the CDC's warnings to avoid areas or events with crowds of more than 10 people.

Glossier
On March 12, Glossier announced that it would be closing its retail locations in New York City, Los Angeles, London, and Atlanta for two weeks. The brand has also postponed the grand opening of its newest location, which was supposed to open in Arizona on March 18.
Lush
Lush made the decision to close all 258 of its retail locations in the US and Canada from March 16-29. The bath and body brand also promised that all employees would receive regular pay for the time they'd be taking off.
Deciem
Deciem, the parent company to brands like The Ordinary and Niod, didn't announce any further details on when its stores should be expected to reopen, but it did ensure that all employees will be paid for their time as normal.
The Body Shop
While giving customers an update on the hygiene protocols the brand has been following at its locations in the US and beyond, The Body Shop made the decision to temporarily stop in-store makeup demonstrations "to minimize any skin to skin contact in our stores." It later followed up to announce that all stores in Spain, Belgium, Austria, France, and Portugal would close until further notice. North America locations will be closed until March 27.
Heyday
On March 13, Heyday closed all 11 of its shops across the New York, Los Angeles, and Philadelphia areas.
Kiehl's
Kiehl's, which has 79 locations around the US, announced it'd be closing its doors until further notice on March 17.
Sephora
Sephora announced on March 17 that all of its locations in the US and Canada will be closed until April 3. In the interim, the brand is waiving standard shipping fees on the retailer's website and app with code FREESHIP.
NYX
NYX closed all 17 of its US stores on March 17 until further notice, ensuring that pay will still be provided to all employees through April 30.
Bath & Body Works
In an email message sent out to customers on March 17, Bath & Body Works announced its decision to temporarily close all of its stores in the US and Canada. The company will be supporting all in-store associates with pay during the closure.

Bare Minerals
On March 16, Bare Minerals announced it'd be closing all of its stores for the next two weeks.
Sundays
The New York City-based wellness and nail studio made the decision to close its doors on March 16 throughout the remainder of the month.
Ulta
Ulta announced that it will begin closing its stores beginning Thursday, March 19, at 6 p.m. until at least the end of the month. The brand assured that it would pay "store and salon associates during this closure period and continue to provide benefits to those who are enrolled."
BlueMercury
On Tuesday, March 16, BlueMercury announced it would temporarily close all stores and offer free shipping for any online order through April 1. It did not note when stores would reopen.
Benefit Cosmetics
All Benefit Boutique and Brow Bar locations in the US and Canada have been closed until April 3. The company announced that all employees will continue to receive benefits and their base pay for scheduled shifts.
