As we leave Winter in the rearview mirror, I'm excited to give my legs a little much-deserved sunlight despite the fact I'm sheltering in place right now. Excited for the warm weather, I eagerly pulled my Spring and Summer clothes out from storage as soon as the temperature creeped over 50 degrees. But the one issue I've consistently struggled with this time of year? Getting my legs ready for the warm weather ahead.
Like most people living in the Northeast US, my legs have been covered up by comfy leggings for the better part of four months. Between consistently shaving and not moisturizing nearly as much as I should, there's definitely some dryness and unevenness going on as far as my thighs and calves are concerned.
Normally a little self-conscious about how my legs look after Winter, I definitely don't mind the confidence boost.
In an effort to make my skin look a little more vibrant, I tested out Tarte's Shape Tape Waterproof Body Makeup ($39) at home, and the formula gave my legs a much-needed boost! Vegan and easy to apply thanks to a handy mitt, the new spin on a cult classic easily hides veins, scars, blemishes, age spots, and even freckles.
Available in six shades on QVC, the creamy, waterproof formula left my legs looking super smooth and even. Normally a little self-conscious about how my legs look after Winter, I definitely don't mind the confidence boost. A few hours after applying, I spent a few minutes with my legs in the bathtub to see just how waterproof the formula really is. Although skeptical at first, I'm happy to report that the body makeup held up! Another plus: after patting myself dry with a towel, I didn't leave any residue, which means you don't have to worry about it rubbing off.
