Why Noah Galvin and Ben Platt Aren't in a Rush to Get Married

Noah Galvin and Ben Platt are one of the cutest (and most talented) couples around. The actors, who both portrayed the titular character in Broadway's "Dear Evan Hansen," were friends for years before their relationship turned romantic. While making an appearance on "The Kelly Clarkson Show" in June 2021, Platt revealed that he and Galvin actually "skated around" the idea of dating for a while before they finally decided to give it a shot. "I didn't see the light for a long time and then I [realized], you know, that he was the guy," Platt said.

After officially getting together at the beginning of 2020, the stars moved in with Platt's parents during the pandemic. "It ended up being a beautiful time," Platt said. Now, years later, Galvin and Platt are engaged. During an April 2023 appearance on "The View," Platt said the couple aren't in a rush to get married because they want to enjoy their time as fiancés. "You only get to have that stage once," he said, adding that they're still in the early stages of wedding planning.

As we wait for Galvin and Platt to walk down the aisle, take a look back at their biggest relationship milestones ahead.

When asked what their relationship was like "going from zero to 100," Platt said their years of friendship prepared them to take the leap of moving in together.

"The nice thing about our situation is that Noah and I were friends for many years before and had quite a long foundation and journey before we got to the capital 'D' dating relationship, so we weren't really starting from scratch," he said. "But certainly yes, zero to 60 in the sense that he was living with my parents and I and in my childhood bedroom with me and meeting my giant family of 17 people, like, throwing him to the wolves from the get-go."
