6 Things We'll See on Game of Thrones Season 6

We've been stressing out over Game of Thrones' season five cliffhangers for nearly a year now, and the new season is finally going to put our concerns to rest on Sunday. We already have plenty of details about the season, as well as a few teasers, but what exactly can we expect will happen with each of our beloved characters? The cast is great at playing it cool with spoilers, but here's what we do know about what's coming up for the upcoming female-driven season of Game of Thrones.

Jon Snow's Fate

Jon Snow's Fate

Wanted by Game of Thrones fans, dead or alive: Jon Snow. While the cast has remained mum on whether or not Jon Snow is actually dead (OK, they actually said he was dead and that we need to let it go), Kit Harington did return to the set while season six was filming. He's also on posters for the new season, as well as the latest trailer. It seems the bastard son of Ned Stark will be back in some way, shape, or form.

The Debut of Teenage Bran

The Debut of Teenage Bran

The last time we see Bran is at the end of season four, when he finally finds the Three-Eyed Raven. Pictures of the new season confirm that he's back (walking??), and actor Isaac Hempstead Wright teased his storyline: "It's going to get particularly interesting with Bran," he told the Irish Examiner last July. "He has some interesting visions."

03
Jaime and Cersei's "Weird" Reunion
HBO

Jaime and Cersei's "Weird" Reunion

Jaime and Cersei part ways in season five so Jaime can retrieve their daughter, Myrcella, from Dorne. In the finale, Ellaria poisons Myrcella and she dies in Jaime's arms when they've just set sail to go back to Cersei. The season 6 pictures show that Jaime makes his way back to his sister/lover with their daughter's body in tow.

"Her relationship with Jaime is at an all-time weird level," Headey told Entertainment Weekly, of Cersei's relationship with her brother. "It’s juicy, and it’s so f*cking dark."

Arya's Adjustment to Blindness
HBO

Arya's Adjustment to Blindness

In case you were wondering if Arya would magically regain her sight, she definitely won't be any time soon. "I was so confident at the end of the last [season], like, 'Oh, [wearing them] was fine, I can't wait,' but it's been actually a bit of a task," Maisie Williams told Vulture in January. "They're very painful, they're like huge and they're very thick . . . Pretending to be blind is much easier when you actually can't see anything. So I did actually love them. For close-ups and stuff it was great, but for wide shots I was like, 'Can we take them out? Is that okay?'"

Sansa Finally Coming Into Her Own
HBO

Sansa Finally Coming Into Her Own

"This season is a really, really big one for Sansa," Sophie Turner told Entertainment Weekly in January. "It's probably her best season yet. It's her really coming into her own. She, this season, really commands the respect that she deserves and she grabs hold of it and she runs with it and it's really good." She continued, saying that her character is "finally getting that storyline that you've been craving for the past five seasons . . . You can only suffer so much before she finally gets the respect that she deserves."

The Battle Scene to End All Battle Scenes

The Battle Scene to End All Battle Scenes

Think you've seen the biggest battle sequence Game of Thrones can pull off? You're wrong. "It’s definitely the biggest [action sequence yet]," writer-producer Bryan Cogman told Entertainment Weekly. "We’ve always wanted to get to a place – story-wise and budget-wise and time-wise and resource-wise – where we would be able to do a proper battle, with one army on one side, one army on another side."
