In a genre largely defined by white bias, a handful of Black authors are finally breaking the mold and giving us the Black Girl Magic frequently absent in literature. Here are 15 of the best fantasy novels featuring strong Black girl leads who navigate fantastical worlds and alternate universes with their supernatural (and natural) powers.
