3 Reasons Everyone (Especially This Guy Right Here) Loves Lucifer

Anyone who knows me personally knows that I love Lucifer. Yes, the handsome, charming, and dazzling Devil caught my attention when I was deciding on what show to watch on Netflix, and I was hooked after the first episode. The fallen angel (portrayed by Tom Ellis) wastes no time in solving murders, and it breaks my heart that the upcoming fifth season is its last. You need to discover the joys of Ellis's wisecracking, pun-loving Devil because you are missing out on a real treat. It's part fantasy, part drama, part comedy, and one of the best comic book adaptations on the small screen. If you want to know more, here are five reasons why I love this show.

The Charming Devil Will Steal Your Heart

Have you ever realized a British accent makes everything about a person 10 times hotter? The way Lucifer talks will make you swoon. He's one of the sexiest characters onscreen in years, and his accent is a major part of his charm. He plays the piano and sings his heart out (he already has the key to my heart), and his surprisingly good nature makes him so irresistible. He's the playboy with a heart of gold and the power to get people's innermost desires.

It's Not ALL About Lucifer

It's Not ALL About Lucifer

Even though the show revolves around Lucifer, his universe is filled with strong women — Detective Chloe Decker (Lauren German), Mazikeen (Lesley-Ann Brandt), and Dr. Linda Martin (Rachael Harris) are all more than capable of looking after themselves. That cast is impressive enough, but then you consider that Kevin Alejandro and D.B. Woodside are also supporting? It doesn't get much better than that lineup when it comes to supernatural procedurals.

The Show Is Even Better Than Its Source Material

The Show Is Even Better Than Its Source Material

Here's a fun fact: this version of the Devil made his debut as a supporting character in Neil Gaiman's The Sandman in 1989. The character was then given a spinoff solo comic series that explored the Devil's adventures on Earth and other places after he abandoned Hell. Netflix's adaptation sees the Devil using his gift to bring out people's desires to help solve murders. And yes, he's living in the City of Angels and solving mysteries. You never would have thought this could offer a great plot, especially considering that the Devil wants to help the police department solve crimes — but it works beautifully.
