Boy Writes Early Letter to Santa to Help Bullied Twin Sister
This Boy Wrote an Early Letter to Santa, and What He Asked For Will Bring You to Tears
When Karen Suffern — a single mom struggling to support her family — asked her 8-year-old twins, Ryan and Amber, to write early letters to Santa Claus last month, it was so that she could plan ahead to save money for the toys on their lists.
Turns out, what her son wished for was absolutely priceless:
Dear Santa,
My mom said to send you our Christmas list. I wanted a remote control car and helicopter, but I don't want that anymore. Kids at school are still picking on Amber, and it's not fair because she doesn't do anything to them and it makes me mad. I prayed that they will stop but God is busy and needs your help. Is it against the rules to give gifts early?
"Needless to say, I started crying," Karen told ABC News after secretly reading the letter. She too had suffered at the hands of bullies as a child and didn't want Amber, who has a few mental disorders, living with the same pain: "I asked the kids if they had ever bullied anyone or been bullied and Amber said, 'Sometimes I just wish I would die so that people would leave me alone.'"
For Ryan's part, he said he wished the schoolyard bullies would "mess with" him instead of Amber. And, although his heartfelt letter was truly selfless, he did have one hard-to-get item on the list: for Amber to meet her favorite band, Big Time Rush, because "it will make her so happy."
Watch the video to see if Santa came through for Amber, even if a little bit on the early side.
