Why This Mom Is Searching For the Apple Employee Who Helped Her Son

Facebook has the power to bring people together, and one mom is hoping the social media community will help her find one very special person — the Nashville-area Apple employee who helped her son get a new iPad.

The fact that the employee assisted in setting up young James's new gadget isn't out of the ordinary, per se. That's just good customer service. But from the start of their visit to the Apple Store, when James — who has Down syndrome and is on the autism spectrum — ran into a clear glass wall, the worker came over and sat right down next to them to see if they were OK.

"Your awesome employee sat with James on the floor of the store and set up the new iPad," the mom, LynnMarie, wrote on Facebook. "There are no words to accurately describe how grateful I am that he took the time to 'meet us right where we were.' He didn't have to sit down on the floor with us. He could have easily waited for us to stand. Could have easily waited for us to come back another day. But he hung out with us in the midst of our pain. He even got a fist bump from James, and I snapped this photo."
