10 Kids You Meet in Every High School Class

It doesn't matter what time class starts, this kid is always strolling in late. While at the beginning of the year their delayed entrance may have been hasty, apologetic, and with an excuse, by the end of the year, it's with a coffee or McDonald's breakfast sandwich in hand. And of course they never ask you if you wanted anything.

You'll recognize this person by the fact that they will almost never be in the class. Between violin concerts, league soccer, student government, PTA meetings, and debate club, this kid has a lot going on. They want to rule the world, and school isn't going to stop them.

Oh, I'm so sorry. Were you asked to take out a piece of paper? Was it too much to ask for you to write a sentence about your Summer vacation? I should have realized that asking this student to do anything was going to result in a championship-level eye-roll and a hearty guffaw.

The student that has seen too many romantic comedies, this one will make every social interaction and group project incredibly awkward. This student will hit you with a cheesy pickup line only seconds before asking to look at the answers to the homework assignment. In elementary school, this was the kid who had more relationships by recess than some would have after college.

This person will take any possible opportunity to debate and then never stop. Is the sky blue? Let's spend the next 30 minutes of class time discussing it. While most of the class moans whenever the debater opens their mouth, secretly they love it because it's a guaranteed time-waster.

Look, just because they're usually right, doesn't mean they needs to roll their eyes that hard. This little know-it-all has done their reading, is confident in what they say, and does not care if you're offended by it. Look for them at the lunch table eating with a carefully selected group of friends who can tolerate being corrected every day.

Some kids look at their desk and see a place for paper and pens; some see a place to hide their phones so they can snap their boo. Others see a desk as a place to put a three-course meal of fried chicken and tater tots. It doesn't matter what the teacher's rules about eating are, this kid will find a way, and if they're nice they'll also find a way to share.

These students are extremely passionate about things that most kids couldn't care less about, and they will spend all of their time doing those things. Whether it's lunchtime D&D sessions or fangirling about the new Doctor in the hallway, these kids keep the class interesting and usually laugh at all the teacher's dorky jokes.

You know what looks like the perfect place to take a little snooze? To the sleep zombie, it's literally anywhere in the classroom. It doesn't matter if they're playing basketball in gym or in lab for chemistry, this person will find a way to get a few minutes of shut-eye.

This kid is smart and quick and will take any opportunity to get the class to laugh. The joker kid makes for a great friend, but can get a little distracting when you're actually trying to learn.
