Manu Ginóbili's Son Doesn't Want Him Retiring From the NBA For This 1 Hilarious Reason

On Saturday, Manu Ginóbili addressed the media to discuss his retirement after 16 seasons in the NBA. After being selected by the San Antonio Spurs in 1999 (he didn't officially sign with the team until 2002), the Argentine shooting guard went on to win four NBA championships, an Olympic gold medal, and was a part of the Spurs Big Three legacy with Tony Parker and Tim Duncan. So, when Manu sat down with his wife to tell their three sons that dad would be spending more time at home and not traveling as much, he was looking for a compelling reason to continue his career and boy, did his 8-year-old son Nico have a good one!

"But I don't want you to retire, dad," Manu's son told him. "The chicken tenders in the family room are awesome!" He assuaged Nico's very valid concerns with a laugh, telling him that he'd "get him some chicken tenders in a different situation . . . That can't be the reason that I stay."

Manu and his wife Marianela Oroño have three boys — 8-year-old twins Dante and Nico and 4-year-old Luca — all with their priorities very much in check.
