You Won't Believe Who the Backstreet Boys Are Bringing on Tour — and Here's a Hint — It's Not NSYNC

Shortly after announcing their brand-new album DNA and a world tour starting in 2019, the members of the Backstreet Boys admit their upcoming string of performances will be a heck of a lot different than those past for one reason: their kids are coming!
"We have a family room backstage for the family and the wives and the kids to hang out in," 47-year-old dad Kevin Richardson told People. "It used to be the VIP room, stocked with alcohol for our friends and different people that come to see the show, but now it's the family room."
Nick Carter — a father to a 2-year-old son, Odin Reign — added that they've even given the space a new name. "It's the VIB room, Very Important Baby," he said. "It'll be daddy daycare."
Forty-three-year-old Brian Littrell admits he feels for the dads in the group who are just embarking on their fatherhood journeys, as his son Baylee is already 16.
"It's a stressful time to have young kids and manage a career," he said. "But we live and we learn and we also are able to talk about those experiences and help one another too."
Although Brian won't get a ton of use out of the VIB room, he admits that having children changes everything.
"When you have one of your own, it's a lot on your shoulders," said Brian. "You want to be able to carry that weight, set a good example, and still do what my dad did. Provide, work hard for your family, be that security, that provider, the goal setter, the visionary that is in charge of the family, that guides everybody."
Nick says that he's looking forward to bringing his family on tour. "Words can't explain how blessed I am to have him, my wife, and my group," he explained. "They've helped me be a great father."
As the youngest member of the band, Nick hopes to learn a thing or two from the more seasoned parents and build upon what he already knows when it comes to raising a kiddo.
"We're all influences on each other. You see how much fun they've been having with being dads, and you get a little older and you start to change," he said. "Obviously, things are different than what they were before and so therefore, I wanted a little bit of what they had. And of course when you find an incredible woman who can be a great mother, that makes everything different."
As the only one who has daughters, AJ McLean is hoping to make the most of the time he spends with girls — Ava Jaymes, 6, and Lyric, 1 1/2 — and his wife, Rochelle.
"There's nothing like a relationship between a daughter and a father," he said, adding, "They both have me wrapped around their finger."
Ever since his father passed away in 2008, Howie Dorough has made it a point to prioritize his family over himself. He hopes to teach his children that the big picture is what's truly important.
"I think kids really taught us there's more to life than just always trying to achieve that next goal, that next gold record, that next platinum record, that next award," he explained. "There's awards within having normalcy and I think kids have taught us to all be able to take a step back, to slow down a little bit to be able to find a good balance in life."
A father of two, Kevin said that he's always wanted to be a dad and even took a six-year break from performing in 2006 to start a family.
"I've always wanted to be a dad," he said. "I couldn't wait to be a dad. I just think it's making me see things and rediscover things again with fresh eyes, you know, seeing it through their eyes, traveling around the world, taking them places, seeing them see things for the first time helps me experience it again for the first time."
