Mastering Minimalism (and the Brands We Turn To)
As POPSUGAR editors, we independently select and write about stuff we love and think you'll like too. If you buy a product we have recommended, we may receive affiliate commission, which in turn supports our work.
There's a fluid mathematics to dressing today. We're being economical and intelligent in the way we wear and perhaps more importantly buy clothes. The constructs are of our own accord, and the fashion world is nonchalantly nudging us to "be who you want to be!" Mastering minimalism isn't an Olympic sport — it is, quite simply, taking ownership of our individuality. Now, proportions make sense again; silhouettes are cleaner; our closets are more streamlined.
There's an effortlessness to dressing now that we craved before but couldn't find. Where some claim this trend is inexpressive, we tend to disagree. What it is instead is a poignant and thoughtful movement against superficiality and labels. There's a freshness and originality to it and a freedom that not only encourages — but insists — on our own personal brand of uniqueness. Minimalism is proof that less really is more. More taste, that is. And a much fuller palette.
