London Fashion Week in 5 Minutes: Everything You Need to Know

With so much going on around the capital during London Fashion Week, it's easy to miss all the amazing shows, presentations, celebrity appearances, and other big moments. So to help you navigate in double time, we're condensing it down to the must-see moments, both on and off the catwalk. The accessories at Emilio de la Morena's show turned as many heads as the clothes, as models in romantic dresses sported lacy eye masks.

Xiao Li followed the trend for statement accessories by putting models in plastic goggles to match the curvy creations they wore. This was one designer who'd clearly paid attention to Pantone's colours of 2016 as both rose quartz and serenity featured heavily!

Joseph tackled layering in new ways, fastening corsets over chunky knitwear and adding badges and patches to add a personalised touch to each piece. Look out for the pleated skirts, wide trousers, and chic coats.

Little Lord Fauntleroy inspired Osman's collection, which definitely wasn't short on frills. Black, white, and red featured heavily, especially on the statement-making red carpet dresses.

Christopher Kane's glamorous grannies sported rain hoods, chunky knits, and the family jewels in a collection that channelled the decaying glamour of the ladies of Grey Gardens.

Sophia Webster quoted Beetlejuice on her invitations and showed a tongue-in-cheek gothic collection on models dressed up like Lydia Deetz. As ever, this was about so much more than the accessories. The designer's presentations have quickly become a LFW must-see moment.

Alexander McQueen made a welcome return to London Fashion Week, showing a dream of a collection (quite literally) with a nighttime inspiration. The gowns were simply stunning.

Temperley took us sailing on the seven seas with her sirens in a collection that combined pirate jackets with wench dresses, and included delicate embroidery taken from tattoo motifs. We'll raise a glass of grog to that!

Mulberry returned to the catwalk for Johnny Coca's long-awaited first collection. Can the designer revive the struggling fashion house? It's looking positive, if the rousing applause from the star-studded audience is anything to go by.

David Koma continued to prove he's the uncontested king of the little black dress with a collection heavy on his trademark look. Chain-link details, cutouts, oversize jewels, and all manner of sparkle took the look to new levels for Autumn/Winter 2016.

Mary Katrantzou's ingenious way with colour, print, and embellishment was on full display in her feminine collection. Necklines came hugged by oversize butterflies, and prim collared minis came covered in intricate details.

Anya Hindmarch paid homage to the 8-bit generation with a collection staged around a series of neon blocks that lit up in time to the music. It was a show in itself before you even got to the clothes and accessories, which came emblazoned with Tetris blocks, smiley faces, Space Invaders, and all manner of kitsch emblems.

Preen opened the third day of LFW with a bang, showing a moody collection heavy on devoré velvet, grungy glamour, and glam rock sequins. If this collection doesn't persuade you that florals are just as great in the Winter as they are in the Spring, nothing will.

Gareth Pugh, is that really you? The designer best known for his all-black collections, structural designs, and gothic influences, surprised us all with a collection of perfect camel coats and star-spangled blue satin suits.

London fashion and textiles legend Zandra Rhodes presented her latest prints on bohemian dresses, wide-leg trousers, and frilled confections. There were also heavier creations in deep berry shades and even a nipped-waist full skirt with a matching peplum bodice — a nice departure from kaftans and boho dresses.

Flapper girls met glam rock groupies at House of Holland, where designer Henry Holland presented his usual fun and frantic brand of UK style. If you're not wearing a Liza top next Winter, perhaps you will be slipping into a sparkly two-piece.

Feminine glamour got roughed up around the edges at Simone Rocha, where her usual brand of dressed-down decadence was stronger than ever. There was a look to suit every aspect of your personality, from gathered coats to lacy midi dresses to plenty of classic black.

J.W.Anderson played with volume in more ways than one: models walked down one of the narrowest catwalks we've ever seen. It just served to play up the proportions of his designs even more, like this voluminous silk half-moon skirt and matching top.

At the Fashion East show, Richard Malone showed us that knitwear is for so much more than just jumpers and cardigans. Ruffles, sporty stripes, and tie details had us wondering why we never considered knitted dungarees before!

Shrimps proved it's a line that offers far more than just brilliant faux fur, with a collection that included some amazing leather biker jackets and sheer printed separates. Those furs weren't in short supply, though, printed with cartoon scrawls, or in cute pink stripes.

The fash pack headed to Chelsea, where Barbara Casasola showed a muted collection of tailoring and separates that included a lot of sheer, body-revealing knits and slouchy, soft-touch coats.

Sisters Alice and Charlotte Dellal hit the catwalk together for the latter's Charlotte Olympia show. The much-loved accessories brand staged a full runway show for the first time during London Fashion Week.

The Central Saint Martins MA show gave us a chance to see the best in up-and-coming fashion talent, and as ever, it was a case of "go big or go home" for these young designers. While these aren't looks we'll be seeing on the high street anytime soon, they did make a statement that won't soon be forgotten . . . and when you're looking for a job in the fashion industry, you want to be memorable!

All of PPQ's hallmarks, from retro prom dresses to OTT makeup, were in place for Autumn/Winter 2016. Prim blouses and pastel pencil skirts had a '50s vibe, while fluffy single-breasted coats and over-the-knee boots added dash of Mod.

Paul Costelloe showed a collection that was darker than anything we've seen from him before, inspired by female warriors, and rife with leather, sharp shoulders, and slinky silhouettes. It was a welcome departure, but we did also love the opening coats with their voluminous hems, which were more reminiscent of what we've come to expect from the LFW veteran.

Daks took us to the darker side with a decadent collection that paid homage to the dinner jacket. In the luxurious surroundings of the Langham hotel, models hit the catwalk in black, black, and more black, topped with heavy tassels and swathes of sheer chiffon.

Extralong neon shirts poking out from underneath reflective skirts were the order of the day at Fyodor Golan, where looks were topped off with statement tights in contrasting pop colours.

The Felder sisters put a space-age spin on their trademark skater dress, showing this ornate silver creation as part of the Felder Felder Autumn/Winter 2016 collection. The rest of the show featured everything from sheer chain-mail knits to a series of statement outerwear options. We loved the textured quilted coats and fluffy silver-trimmed jackets.

Royal College of Art graduate and textile specialist Alice Archer wowed with a presentation that showed off her unique embroidery and print combinations, which are inspired by fine art, but use modern techniques to bring the intricate art forms to a new generation.
