If you've followed Christian Siriano's career, you know his designs aren't subtle. Feathered dresses frequently grace his runway, jumpsuits feature eye-catching prints, and his first-ever bridal collection? Of course it included a splash of pink. Even for his holiday window display — which can be seen at Hershey's Chocolate World in Times Square — Christian's creations are once again glam, as sketches of billowing dresses dance down the street.

Chatting with Christian about his new, festive gig, we couldn't help but ask about another big one on the horizon: award season. It's this time of year when his stuff steals the spotlight, so, naturally, we pressed him for any inside scoop.

"This season, stylists are requesting — for any actress that they [work with] — a lot of color and a lot of white," he said. "Nobody wants black. So, we'll see."

Color and white are two things Christian does exceptionally well — so much so, he even shared advice on how noncelebs can pull off vibrant hues.

"If you don't wear color, it's one of those things like, why not?" Christian asked. "What's holding you back? I think one of the biggest things in fashion is that you have to play and have fun. It should never be too serious."

So the next time you debate wearing color, just repeat Christian's two wise words: why not? For now, though, scroll through to see the Spring and Fall '17 we hope to see on the red carpet.
