9 Bridal Trends You'll See Everywhere Next Spring

The latest crop of wedding dresses will be rolling out soon, but the ones ahead are all available for the Spring 2018 bride. While there's a lot to see here, all the looks have one thing in common: they're decidedly fashion-forward. This season, the biggest RTW trends — like bow sleeves, gloves, and Victorian influences — are making their way over to the bridal realm.

You'll find surprisingly elegant chokers completing some very glamorous ensembles you might not at first consider for a walk down the aisle. But as you scroll past designs from iconic fashion houses like Carolina Herrera, Oscar de la Renta, and Vera Wang, you'll warm up to the inventive new dresses that, at the end of the day, still feel entirely romantic.

Bridal Chokers

Whether in the form of pearls, ribbons, or bows, it seems the choker trend has caught on in the bridal realm. They provide either a stark contrast to an ultrafeminine look or extra oomph to a classic, simple dress.

Bow Sleeves

Rather than inventive necklines or astounding trains, brides are getting playful with their sleeves. The trend extends from the RTW runways, where long sashes and ropes hang from the wrists. To keep things more elegant, pretty oversize bows are a symmetrical touch for the trendiest wedding dresses.

Capes, Capelets, and Cover-Ups

The embroidered "Love is love" cape at Lela Rose might have been one of the most photographed Bridal Week looks. While this design made the most literal statement, we saw plenty of beaded shawls and ponchos round out other collections, including Oscar de la Renta, where a white denim jacket was paired with a tulle skirt.

Bridal Pants

The bride wears the pants for Spring 2018. And with elegant designs just as majestic as any gown's, there's no reason not to go the trouser route on your special day. Cropped jumpsuits allow you to show off your pumps, while extended hemlines pool down to the floor, mimicking the look of a long, pretty dress.

Gloves

Simple, white, and elbow-length is no way to describe the bridal gloves of the season. Some of them are sheer and seem to blend in with the dresses they complement thanks to similar floral details. Others are illusion sleeves or short lace accoutrements that don't extend further than the wrist. Either way, they provide an update to any bridal look, ensuring it does not look unfinished.

Floating Florals

Rather than perfectly aligned, making up the trim of a dress, the new floral pattern floats down the gown. It's stitched in a sporadic manner, straying from anything that appears too uniform.

Victorian-Inspired

High necklines, contrast pussy bows, and intricate lace details came straight from the Victorian era. Combined with modern silhouettes like Vera Wang's oversize maxis or Reem Acra's bodycon sheaths, the look feels fresh and exciting.

Boho Princess

It wasn't just the floral crowns that put us in a bohemian mood during Bridal Week. Models walked down the runway in breezy shifts and bell sleeves, some even toting flowers or plants. Tasseled earrings, headbands, and flowy maxi dresses rounded out the bohemian set of wedding looks.

Added Embellishment

Supersparkly rings, pearl capes, netted veils, and oversize poofs played up some of the most glamorous wedding looks of the season, proving that there are plenty of options for brides who love to accessorize — even for their walk down the aisle. All these little finishes make the bridal outfit feel especially unique.
