Basil is one of those seasonal ingredients that really brings the Summer flavor. And the fragrant herb is easy to grow with Basil Garden-in-a-Bag from Potting Shed Creations. Simply clip and add to whatever you're making — including cocktails. A crisp drink is the best way to cool down on hot Summer nights, and this gin version of a fresh mojito is a must make the next time you're having friends over for dinner.

Basil-Lime Gin Mojito

Basil-Lime Gin Mojito

  1. 4 basil leaves, plus 1 small sprig for garnishing
    2 ounces gin
3/4 ounce freshly squeezed lime juice, plus 2 slices for garnishing
    1 ounce simple syrup
    Chilled club soda

  1. Place the basil leaves and ice in a cocktail shaker along with the gin, lime juice, and simple syrup. Shake well, bruising the basil leaves and releasing their flavor.
  2. Pour into an ice-filled glass and tuck in the lime slices. Top with club soda and a sprig of basil leaves.
