Those who have terrible tequila memories from college or who simply want a shim (aka lower-alcohol beverage) will adore this Pinot-Grita, a frozen margarita-like cocktail made with Pinot Grigio, orange juice concentrate, and lime juice. The citrusy flavor and acidity of the wine match the margarita's classic flavors so exceptionally, it's a wonder more people haven't tried out this combination before. So put down the glass of white wine this Cinco de Mayo, and start rimming some margarita glasses or mason jars with salt!

  1. Lime wedges, to garnish
  2. Salt, to garnish
  3. 3 cups Pinot Grigio, like Woodbridge by Robert Mondavi
  4. 3/4 cup frozen orange juice concentrate
  5. 1/2 cup lime juice, freshly squeezed
  6. 3 cups ice

  1. Place salt in a plastic bowl, wide enough to fit the rims of margarita glasses. Rub each rim of the margarita glasses with a lime wedge. Then dip each glass into the bowl of salt to coat the rims. Set glasses aside.
  2. In a blender, combine wine, orange juice concentrate, lime juice, and ice in blender. Crush until smooth. Divide into 4 salt-rimmed glasses, and garnish with lime wedge. Serve immediately.
