Paderno Spiralizer

Paderno Spiralizer

Rudimentary spaghettis and linguines are my go-to weeknight dinner pick, but I'd like to lighten up dinner this month after a solid quarter of unhealthy holiday eating. Thanks to Williams-Sonoma's Paderno Spiralizer ($40), I'll still have a vehicle for those puttanesca, amatriciana, and pesto sauces — only supper will be better on my waistline.

West Elm Glass Canisters

West Elm Glass Canisters

I love shopping at bulk bins, but I can't stand all the plastic bags. One of my New Year's resolutions is to store all my loose pantry items in neat little glass containers. These from West Elm ($19-$29) feature measurements in cups and ounces plus have lovely copper-plated tops.

Yogurt Maker

Yogurt Maker

I eat yogurt for breakfast almost every day, which regretfully adds up to a lot of plastic containers tossed in the recycling bin. With that in mind (and also because I've been itching to explore the world of home-fermented foods), I'd love to get this handy yogurt incubator ($60), which comes with a set of adorable reusable yogurt jars.

Whole-Grain Mornings by Megan Gordon

Whole-Grain Mornings by Megan Gordon

How does one stick to those lofty 2014 intentions? By getting every new day off to the right start. Megan Gordon's Whole-Grain Mornings: New Breakfast Recipes to Span the Seasons ($22) finally gives the most-skipped meal the star treatment it deserves. Those of you in a morning slump, expect wholesome breakfast ideas for Winter, Spring, Summer, and Fall, as well as every occasion, from a slow Sunday to a busy work weekday. I can't wait to try the cheesy chive millet grits.

Downton Abbey Grantham Breakfast Blend

Downton Abbey Grantham Breakfast Blend

Some might start their day off with a scorching hot cup of coffee, but I'm more of a tea girl. So, imagine my excitement when I learned that PBS paired up with Republic of Tea for a line of Downton Abbey teas, including this cozy ginger-spiked black tea ($12) just in time for the season four premiere.

Chefs Mix and Measure Set

Chefs Mix and Measure Set

I can never have too many mise-en-place bowls, which is why I want to start the year off with this porcelain measuring cup set ($45). Equal amounts of rustic and refined, the set of 17 stackable bowls and measuring spoons will help me stay even more organized — and exact as I measure, prep, and cook.

Food Network's The Kitchen

Food Network's The Kitchen

Some of my favorite celebrity chefs are coming together for Food Network's latest daytime series. The Kitchen — which stars Geoffrey Zakarian, Sunny Anderson, Jeff Mauro, Marcela Valladolid, and Katie Lee, and will kick off Saturday, Jan. 4 — will boast family recipes, food trends, cooking tips, and, of course, plenty of jokes.

PB2 Powdered Peanut Butter

PB2 Powdered Peanut Butter

My friend introduced me to this powdered peanut butter ($7). A new year means eating better (this stuff contains 85 percent less fat than standard peanut butter). I love snacking on the dry powder (trust me, it's addictive) or sprinkling it into smoothies. Also, this jar lasts way longer than regular peanut butter. Here's to never letting PB go rancid again!
