CNN anchor Anderson Cooper didn't just find himself the perfect getaway home, he built one from the ground up. Tucked away in the town of Trancoso, Brazil, "Casa Anderson" is what we'd picture when envisioning our own dream tropical paradise. He was enchanted by the village when he first visited with his partner Benjamin Maisani and friend — and Bravo host — Andy Cohen.

"Within a day I was fantasizing about buying a house there," Cooper told Architectural Digest. "Ben thought I'd lost my mind, and Andy, who is encouraging about almost everything, thought I was nuts, too. I've worked in 70 countries and traveled to even more, and I've never seen anything like Trancoso."

Cooper looked to designer Wilbert Das to preserve the Trancoso locality and culture when creating the four-building compound. A colonial-style cottage, two bungalows, and a two-story treehouse comprise the private utopia, all constructed with salvaged materials. The treehouse stands by the pool and even features an outdoor living room and bar. You get the town square on one end and rainforest on the other, while the lot is naturally lined with mango, cacao, banana, and acai trees.

If you aren't lusting over "Casa Anderson" yet, look ahead for a glimpse inside. Then, head to Architectural Digest for the full story.
