The Miami Biltmore Hotel is a beautiful Mediterranean Revival-style building built in 1926. It was designed by the same architects who designed New York's Grand Central Terminal, who designed the main tower to mimic the Giralda Tower in Seville, Spain. Because the hotel was used as a hospital from 1942 to 1968, it was never modernized, so it still has a lot of the original features.
This hotel hosted European and Hollywood royalty, from the Duke and Duchess of Windsor to Judy Garland, and was considered one of the most fashionable resorts in the country. When President Roosevelt took fishing trips to Miami, he stayed at the Biltmore.
The best reason to visit: the stunning lobby.
Average Price Range: $220-$543 per night.
