4 Major Design Changes Donald Trump Has Already Made to the Oval Office So Far

The door to the oval office had barely shut behind Barack Obama on Inauguration Day when newly sworn-in President Donald Trump began making major interior design changes. While it's standard for the incoming president to customize the space to suit his personal preferences, the speed at which Trump redecorated is atypical. It seems President Trump couldn't wait to cover the Oval Office in his signature color, gold! And the White House private living quarters will also be getting a Trump a makeover as Melania recently hired a White House interior designer. Keep reading to check out the major changes Donald Trump has already made to the oval office.

New drapes quickly and effectively change the entire tone of a room, so Donald wasted no time swapping out Obama's maroon panels for signature gold ones. They're notable similar to those that hung during President Clinton's tenure.

As new president Trump signs executive orders, the press can be seen kneeling on a very different rug than was on the ground just hours prior. Obama's custom-made white, beige, and navy rug bordered by inspiring quotes was moved out and this warm-hued sunburst rug featuring shades of gold, rust, and beige was moved in. If it looks familiar, that's because it appears to be the exact same rug Ronald Reagan had in the oval office!

A bust of Winston Churchill, that Obama had placed in a different room, was moved back into the Oval Office. Meanwhile, a bust of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. has been repositioned within the Oval Office.

4. Brocade Sofas

Obama's cozy grey suede sofas have reportedly been replaced with brocade sofas in — you guessed it — gold.
