Elopement at Moraine Lake in Banff National Park
From the Bride's Pink Dress to the Bright Blue Lake, This Couple's Banff Elopement Is Like a Fairy Tale

Isis and Nick met through mutual friends and bonded over their love for music. The pair also love to travel, and a few years into their relationship, they took a trip to Tasmania — an island just off the coast of Australia. They hiked to the Marions Lookout point, a spot with a panoramic view of Dove Lake surrounded by glorious mountains, and were having a small picnic together when Nick proposed. Isis was completely taken by surprise, but of course, she accepted his proposal!
The couple never considered having a traditional wedding, and given the adventurous nature of their proposal, it makes sense that their wedding was just as exciting. After seeing photos of a friend's trip to Moraine Lake in Alberta, Canada, they knew that was the spot for their ceremony. Isis also did not want a traditional wedding dress, so she had a baby pink gown made and paired it with Converse sneakers. After planning their nuptials, they embarked on the greatest adventure of their lives and headed off to Canada.
"It was so surreal standing at that lake the morning of our wedding, taking it all in and realizing we made it!" Isis said. "Before we left for Canada, we had a sign made that read, 'We Eloped — Moraine Lake, Canada, 13th August 2019.' This date is my G'ma's birthday, and although she is no longer with us, I wanted her to be part of our special day." They put so much thought into their wedding, and it was absolutely breathtaking. The couple hired photographer Elizabeth van der Bij to capture their big day, so keep reading to see the photos of Isis and Nick's elopement in the mountains.
