Cakes Are Getting Undressed

Naked cakes are a great trend I've noticed; they feel a little bit more organic, with an unfinished touch. It's natural and people are more health conscious these days, so it's a good option if you are going the organic/healthy route.

If an elaborate fondant cake is more your style, a trend for 2015 I've been seeing is the incorporation of metallic gold or silver icings. Metallic overall is really chic in the wedding industry right now.

Old-World Class Is Trending Again in 2015: Champagne Towers

What's new here is a return to a classic show. I feel that it's such an elegant way of serving and welcoming guests to the reception hour. Implementing the tower and having a waiter pour the Champagne into coupe glasses is very elegant and sexy. You can do it right before the cake cutting as well. Try all of this with a sparkling Rosé to add color and vibrancy to such a classic showstopper. Pink Champagnes or even Proseccos are definitely in this year.

Chrome Is the New Black: Laser-Cut Invitations, Place Settings, and Menu Cards

Chrome is a hot new trend. Chrome can be silver or gold, but gold has been an especially hot color for the last few seasons, and it's still going strong. Laser-cut invitations, menu cards, and place settings give depth and weight to your unforgettable moment.

We love collaborating with avant-garde, risk-taking designers. One of them is RedBliss Design, a couture invitation studio. And it is clear that together we are seeing a major trend toward gold and brass design treatments. It adds the perfect hint of glint to classic and romantic celebrations and becomes a bold, modern design element if it's posh glamour you desire. And its opulence isn't hindered by any season or setting.

For invitations specifically, its versatility makes it exceptional for rich personalization. From metallic foil, gilt bevels, and gold leaf to genuine brass metal and mirrored chrome, the processes and materials available allow couples a distinct and broad array of custom design options.

Cathedral Veils

Cathedral veils are something that have definitely come back. For a while, brides had abandoned them completely, opting for just a short veil, but there's been a trend toward the "old world," dramatic, classic vibe of the longer veil. A bride of mine recently wore a family heirloom piece that had been passed down through generations.

Lace Is Getting Versatile

Most brides tend to go toward the lace route when it comes to their wedding gowns, but they might not implement it anywhere else. For a wedding I worked on last year, we used a black lace cloth to cover the dinner table, which was complemented by black lace covering on the backs of the menus, creating a synergy of decorative patterns.

Fusing Environments

I've been bringing the outdoors inside lately; for instance, for NBA star Landry Fields's wedding at Top of the Rock's 620 Loft & Garden, we built a boxwood panel at the entrance so that instead of seeing stark white walls when people entered the venue, they saw our beautiful art installation of framed floral and wood materials. We wanted to bring a garden feel into the foyer of the loft, and it created a beautiful ambience, a real wow factor. We even inscribed the word "love" into one of the panels. The bride was a glam girl but also very romantic, so we meshed the two worlds together. And this is a concept that's been hot for a little while now.
