15 Signs You Were a Cheerleader (and Forever Will Be on the Inside)
You may have only been a cheerleader as a teen, but those years follow you forever. Cheer is basically a way of life and the memories you make with your team stay with you as you go into adulthood. If you were a cheerleader, you'll totally understand (and LOL at) these truths that you still deal with today.
You may have tried on your uniform to see if it still fits.
It does . . . barely.
When you see old teammates, it's like nothing has changed.
Besties forever.
To this day you still yell the loudest at sporting events.
It's that cheer voice. Yell from your stomach, duh.
You still have a pair of spankies in the corner of your drawer.
Those stupid things literally never go away.
You know every line of Bring It On.
It's like the cheer bible.
And you watched all those crappy sequels too.
Strictly to see the routines.
Your toe touches are nowhere near as high as they used to be.
But it's still fun to try (and fail at them) in the living room.
Nobody knows how to wear a high ponytail like you.
It's never high enough. NEVER.
You still break out into cheer during very non-cheer related situations.
Sometimes the popcorn in the microwave needs a little support.
You watch cheerleaders of the current generation and they're just not as good as you were (in your head).
DO they even know what spirit fingers are?
When you hear a song from an old routine, you'll start doing the moves.
At the clubs, in the grocery store — it really doesn't matter where.
You have perfected putting your makeup on in the car due to bus ride makeovers.
You had to put that cheer face on during rides to away games.
You still have nightmares about messing up a routine.
Or even worse, a stunt.
You know how to smile so big your cheek hurts.
It's like you were brainwashed into it.
You will defend that cheerleading is a sport for as long as you live.
Because IT IS.
