Seriously??? Some if those books ARE great but a lot of girls prefer their heroes modern! Jacqueline Wilson, a British author, writes GREAT books about feisty females in REAL situations Nim and Nim's Island Hannah Skating on Sand series Matilda by Roald Dahl My bookworm daughter, now 11, has read most of those you suggest but few will engage non-readers! There are just SSSOOO MANY non pink books for girls! And, in a conplete contradiction, be careful with Nancy Drew because the new ones have her much more interested in boys!
