Are You Afraid of the Dark? We Tested the Glow-in-the-Dark Power of These Candy Wrappers
Taking kids trick-or-treating can be the ultimate Halloween fun, but rooting through candy bowls on dimly lit porches can test even the most patient parent. Luckily, this Halloween, there's a new solution for those of us who are afraid of the dark (or the tantrums mistaken candy can bring).
Miniature Hershey's Milk Chocolate bars, Reese's Peanut Butter Cups, and Kit-Kats just got a makeover with glow-in-the-dark wrappers that are perfect for a spooky-themed party, choosy trick-or-treaters, or your own personal snacking. The packaging suggests these treats show off their best glow after being "charged" under direct light, so I put that claim to the test.
Here We Glow . . .
Let's glow! After holding a flashlight to the individual wrappers, I can report that these snacks really do the job. While I wouldn't go replacing a traditional flashlight with these candies anytime soon, they're perfect for giving a little light to a bowl of Halloween treats.
Ahead, check out the other candies available in glow-in-the-dark wrappers. Sam's Club shoppers can snatch up these treats in a Hershey's Glow-in-the-Dark Halloween Bundle ($20), and they'll soon become available to more retailers nationwide. The brands will also be releasing new candy miniatures wrapped in spooky foil, as well as dark chocolate Kit-Kats and orange/black cherry Twizzlers. My sweet tooth is already tingling — yum!
