Joe Biden Gives a Touching Speech to Announce He's Not Running For President

Vice President Joe Biden has lots of dreams, but one that won't come true: becoming president of the United States. In a personal speech Wednesday, the longtime Democratic politician confirmed once and for all that he will not seek the Democratic nomination. With his wife, Jill, and President Obama by his side in the White House Rose Garden, Biden delivered the emotional remarks. He said that while he's moved through the dark days of grieving for his late son, Beau Biden, who died of brain cancer earlier this year, the window has closed for a successful presidential run.

The speech also served as a retirement announcement. The end of the Obama administration will signal the end of his official career in politics, which began when he was elected to the Senate as a "29-year-old-kid." But it sounded like a speech he could have made if he were announcing his candidacy. He laid out his positions for the middle class, defended the Obama legacy, and said if he had one dream, it's "to be known as the president who ended cancer." As someone who has recently experienced the cruelness of cancer, Biden said: "I believe we need a moon shot to cure cancer."

For fans of "Middle Class Joe," don't worry, he's not going anywhere. He promised to not be silent during the 2016 election.

Even so, you know Hillary Clinton's camp just let out a big sigh of relief:
