- In election news, people are "trading" votes for third-party candidates in states where their ballot is likely to have little effect on the state's electoral college votes. An entrepreneur in California, a Democratic stronghold, created an app to allow people in swing states who want to vote for a third-party candidate to "trade" their votes with people voting for Clinton. The swing state voters cast their ballot for Clinton but are paired with someone voting for a third-party candidate.
- Bad news for Chris Christie. The New Jersey governor's top aides who were charged in the Bridgegate scandal were found guilty of all charges Friday morning. Bridget Kelly, Christie's former chief of staff, and former Port Authority executive Bill Baroni were found guilty of intentionally closing lanes on the George Washington Bridge in September 2013 as political retaliation. Christie contends he was not aware of the incident; however, both defendants and prosecutors claim he knew.
- In Europe, the migrant crisis is worsening. After roughly 239 migrants drowned in the Mediterranean crossing from Libya this week, the total number of deaths has surpassed last year's. In Paris it's estimated that 100 migrants arrive a day. Countries across the continent are struggling with what to do about the influx of people.
- Speaking of Paris, Sting is slated to reopen the city's Bataclan music venue a year after terrorists tragically murdered hundreds during a concert there. The concert will be held on Nov. 12.
- Today's biggest sports headline centers on Harvard's soccer team. The school canceled its entire season after it discovered the team systematically rated women on campus based on their sexual appeal and physical appearance. Apparently the administration had previously learned of a sexual "scouting report" put together by the team in 2012, but the team did not stop. They were ranked number one in the Ivy League.
- In sadder news, Michael Bublé and his wife announced that they are putting their careers on hold while their 3-year-old son is treated for cancer. The couple's son, Noah, was diagnosed with cancer earlier this week — the singer did not provide any more details in his Facebook post about the diagnosis.
