Well here's one way to describe the leaked video of Donald Trump making vile comments about women: a sign that "Trump has officially broken almost every record of scumbaggery in politics." Trevor Noah's Daily Show takedowns have been abundant this election cycle, in part because he simply has so much material to work with, but his latest segment on the recording is arguably his best yet.
He pointed out that what Trump said on that bus was an allusion to sexual assault and explains why Trump's excuse of "locker room banter" doesn't apply. "First, they're conflating sex talk and sexual assault talk. Alright? Trying to make Trump's comments sound normal is not something that they're achieving. Because, I'm sorry, that is not normal," says Noah. "There is a big difference between saying dirty words and glorifying non-consensual sexual contact."
Noah lands another zinger about the locker room excuse, saying, "If you conduct locker room talk everywhere, it's not the locker room, it's you, motherf*cker!" He also slams the Republican lawmakers who stood by Trump when he made xenophobic remarks about Mexicans and Muslims but became appalled with his behavior only after he degraded women. Many of these lawmakers expressed outrage because they said they have daughters and wives. "The Trump tape shouldn't offend you on behalf of females, it should offend you as a human being," he says. That one sentence can be applied to many other aspects of Trump's campaign.
