What Better Way to Enjoy Your Afternoon Tea Than With an Adorable DIY Harry Potter Mug?
Now you can have a drink with Harry. This simple DIY mug will only take a few minutes to make, but for all of you Harry Potter fans, it will make you smile each time you take a sip of your morning coffee, tea, or — what the heck — some frothy Butterbeer. Honestly, anyone can draw this simple design (even Muggles). Just follow the steps ahead.
• Oil-based paint pens (regular Sharpies don’t work for this project)
• Rubbing alcohol and paper towels (in case you mess up)
• One-inch paper circles
Cut out one-inch paper circles, and then tape onto your mug.
Use the circles as a template and draw around them. Then remove the paper circles.
Draw a line in between the circles and a small smile underneath.
Draw the lightning bolt scar on Harry's forehead.
Use your black paint pen to draw Harry's mop top.
Draw a Gryffindor scarf around the bottom of the mug with red and yellow paint pens. Then let your mug dry for a few hours to make sure the drawing will last.
To set the drawing, place the mug in a preheated 350°F oven for 30 minutes. Let it cool before you touch it.
To care for your mug, handwash it. Your Harry drawing may rub off if you place it in the dishwasher. And we can’t let that happen! If Voldemort couldn’t defeat Harry, we can’t let your dishwasher do it.
