Pride is all about celebrating who you are and who you love, and really, what's not to love about that? From the rainbow flags to the parades to the declarations of love, there are so many cities in the US that celebrate Pride in style. Every year, the streets of these cities transform into one big party, and it's always so much fun to be a part of it. The events around the nation vary in size, but all share a universal mission of promoting LGBTQ+ equality and human rights. New York, NY

For the entirety of June, WorldPride lands in New York City. The celebration includes over 50 events, parties, rallies, and more. Orange County, CA

Throughout the entire year, Orange County hosts a variety of LGBTQ+ events, including pageants, runs, cruises, and the annual Pride Week Festival held every June for the past 30 years. Just a short drive from LA, Orange County offers a great alternative to the chaos and crowds that flock to West Hollywood every June. Throughout the week, participants can watch live musical performances, chat with community leaders, and enjoy the parade down 4th street. St. Pete, FL

Drawing in more than 250,000 people in total, St. Pete Pride, Florida's largest Pride event, is a colorful festival featuring art, music, and performances at exciting locations throughout the area. The festival weekend, which is June 21-23, serves to promote unity, visibility, self-esteem, and positive image among the LGBTQ+ community throughout the state of Florida. Providence, RI

One of the main festivities for the weekend includes the After Dark Illuminated Parade, one of the only after-hours Pride parades in the country and the only one of its kind in New England.

Sioux Falls, SD

Go where the (rainbow) buffalo roam and experience Pride in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Having grown from 4,000 attendees to over 10,000 in the past four years, the Sioux Falls Pride festival one June 15 celebrates the LGBTQ+ community from all over the Midwest while maintaining its small-town community feel. The family-friendly festival showcases the abundance of talent in the region, emphasizing artists, musicians, and drag performers. The event also boasts a row of local food and artisan vendors so patrons can show their support for the community.

Los Angeles, CA

For over 40 years, LA Pride has been a hot spot for equality, diversity, and inclusion in the LA community and beyond. W Los Angeles - West Beverly Hills is the perfect hotel to stay at during LA Pride Week. This year, the hotel will debut their new Queer Me Out global speaker series on June 6, which was created to give a bigger platform to connect and inspire the LGBTQ+ community in every W destination.

Dallas, TX

After more than 30 years of celebrating Dallas Pride in September, the festival is moving to June to align with National Pride Month in 2019. The two-day celebration includes the Miller Light Music Festival on June 1 and the 36th annual Alan Ross Texas Freedom Parade on June 2. Named after the long-serving executive director of the Dallas Tavern Guild, the Alan Ross Texas Freedom Parade will have a family Pride zone, local vendors, food and beverage stands, and live entertainment.

Sonoma County, CA

While Sonoma County is known to be an incredible wine region with world-class winery offerings, many people don't know about the bustling LGBTQ+ scene. A short drive from San Francisco, Santa Rosa hosts one of the state's most jam-packed Pride festivals, Sonoma County Pride, filled with wine tastings, parades, film festivals, parties, speeches, and more from May 31 to June 2.

Seattle, WA

Throughout June, Seattle is celebrating its 50th anniversary of Seattle PrideFest. The month is filled with art shows, lectures, rooftop parties, and much more. The nearby Kimpton Hotel Monaco Seattle is perfect for pride celebration visitors, thanks to being walking distance to all of the events. W Seattle is also the official hotel for Pridefest and will be hosting unique events open to locals and guests.

Sacramento, CA

California's capital hosts Sacramento Pride every June on the city's Capitol Mall. The event is put on by the Sacramento LGBTQ+ Community Center and this year's festivities are dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall riots. The event serves to bring together the community through two major events: the SacPride Festival and the Pride March. The festival will have a variety of activities, including a lip sync battle, live music, dancing, food, vendor booths, and more on June 8 and 9. The march, which occurs on June 9, is a colorful parade with floats and a grand marshal where individuals can choose to participate in the parade directly or as a spectator.
