The cast of Sucker Punch headed to London for the premiere of their movie last night. Vanessa Hudgens, Abbie Cornish, Jena Malone, and Emily Browning hit the red carpet last week in LA with the help of other famous faces, but this time they were joined by Superman himself, Henry Cavill. Emily had her hot date, Max Irons, by her side for the event, and the couple got cozy at the afterparty. Perhaps the action-packed fantasy film will have a better run with the overseas crowd after a disappointing opening weekend at the US box office.
Sucker Punch: Lights, Camera, Exploitation
Sucker Punch is an action-fantasy hybrid that tells the story of a young woman known only as "Baby Doll" (Emily Browning). In an engrossing prologue, we're introduced to Baby Doll's plight; when her mother dies, she and her sister become the targets of their sadistic stepfather. In a tragic twist, Baby Doll is involved in an accident that lands her in a dilapidated mental institution. Unable to accept her new reality, Baby Doll escapes into a fantasy world in which she imagines that she and the other female patients (Vanessa Hudgens, Abbie Cornish, Jena Malone, and Jamie Chung) are beautiful dancers in a burlesque theater.

Even in Baby Doll's parallel world where she and the others are gorgeous seductresses, there's still danger from the evil club owner. Fixated on escaping from the theater, Baby Doll learns from a mysterious mentor that she needs five tools to earn her freedom. The other girls are willing to help, and each time they retrieve one of the tools, they all disappear into a second fantasy world in which they're gun-toting, sword-wielding warriors tasked with defeating a variety of faceless enemies. Does that sound confusing? It is. Though director Zach Snyder tries very hard to make Sucker Punch something of an instant classic for the gamer set, all he creates is a messy illustration of female eye candy atop a half-baked story.

Whose Red-Carpet Look Packed the Biggest Punch?

The leading ladies of Sucker Punch were in fighting shape as they walked the red carpet at last night's Los Angeles premiere. While some of the girls went for glamorous retro waves, romantic curly updos, and peachy-pink lips, stars Emily Browning and Jena Malone bucked the trend with a stick-straight bob and dark, moody lipstick, respectively. Whose red-carpet beauty look packed the biggest punch?
Jon Hamm Joins Vanessa, Abbie, and More to Celebrate Sucker Punch
The ladies of Sucker Punch like Vanessa Hudgens and Abbie Cornish joined their leading man, Jon Hamm, and his girlfriend, Jennifer Westfeldt, for their LA premiere last night. The screening brought out other actresses from the project like Jamie Chung, Jena Malone, and Emily Browning, who are all featured in the pages of the new Nylon magazine. Other stars like Derek Hough, Emma Roberts, and Malin Akerman stepped onto the black carpet as well to enjoy the evening out at Grauman's Chinese Theater. BuzzSugar had a recent sneak peek at photos from the movie, which was directed by 300's Zack Snyder. The plot is centered on a young girl, played by Emily, who fantasizes about escaping from a mental ward, and it arrives in theaters tomorrow.
Vanessa Hudgens and Abbie Cornish Talk Sucker Punch, Girl Power, and Kicking Bradley Cooper's Butt
Sucker Punch costars Vanessa Hudgens and Abbie Cornish each donned leather to pose for the April issue of Nylon. The movie's cast, which also includes Jena Malone, Jamie Chung, and Emily Browning, did their share of toughening up for their roles in the upcoming fantasy film, with Vanessa even learning to use a tomahawk! The leading ladies talked to the magazine about their fight skills, first impressions of each other, and what gets their adrenaline pumping. Here are some highlights:
- Vanessa on her first reaction to the film: "My adrenaline was kicking, my energy, my spirits were so high that I literally felt like I had just walked out of a rock concert. . . When I saw it, I was literally like, 'Woo, yes! I can do anything! Yay! Go women!' Like, I feel so empowered."
- Abbie on her Limitless costar Bradley Cooper's take on the film: "One night I was having dinner with Bradley Cooper and he was like, 'If [the cast of the A-Team] had played paintball with [the cast of Sucker Punch] you would have kicked our butts.' It's like, 'Yeah, we know.'"
- Vanessa on being impressed with her costars: "I remember walking in the very first day, and Jena [Malone] is stretching her back from side to side, and I remember looking at her like, 'Damn! Look at the back on that chica!' She was so cut! I was blown away by her back muscles. I was like, 'Okay, I'm a little bit intimidated, I must admit.'"

Limitless: Doesn't Reach Its Full Potential
The exciting premise of Limitless opens the door for a plethora of possible film storylines: a man discovers a wonder drug called NZT that allows him to access 100 percent of his brain. He not only becomes an upgraded version of himself, he transforms into the best version of virtually any human. Will he use his power for good? For evil? For love? Director Neil Burger tries to encapsulate all of those themes (and more) into his film, creating an adventure that's entertaining but never quite crosses over into exhilarating.

Bradley Cooper stars as Eddie Morra, a struggling writer whose life is in the toilet. He looks like hell, his apartment is a dump, and his girlfriend Lindy (Abbie Cornish) just broke up with him. He's skeptical when his former brother-in-law slips him a drug to help him focus on his book, but Eddie quickly changes his mind when he asks himself "how much worse could it get?"
Thus begins a dizzying adventure where NZT becomes Eddie's own personal magic lamp, granting him all the wishes he could possibly ask for. Naturally, it's not all fun and games; he's thrown into a circle of violence and slippery people almost immediately after NZT becomes part of his life. The more Eddie shows off his newly acquired skills, business savvy, and opulence, the bigger the target on his back becomes.

Bradley and Abbie Have Marie Claire's Couples Issue Covered
Limitless costars Bradley Cooper and Abbie Cornish grace the April cover of Marie Claire. The actors play a romantic pair in the sci-fi thriller, so they were a perfect fit for the annual couples issue. Abbie is usually seen with lighter hair, including in her sexy GQ spread, but looks hot with sensitive soul Bradley. The duo reunited to pose together and dish on their views about love ahead of the film's big publicity push. Stay tuned later today to PopSugarTV to see our I'm a Huge Fan winner's road to meeting Bradley at the NYC premiere! He and Abbie opened up about what makes relationships really work, their memorable first dates, the couples they admire, and more. Here are some highlights:
- Abbie on what makes for a happy romance: "A love for one's self, trust, communication, compassion, intimacy, giggles ... and the occasional tickle fight.
- Bradley on couples he admires: "My parents have been together since 1963, so that's something."
- Bradley on his first date: "The first date I ever went on was in Ocean City, New Jersey. I was 13, and I took this girl I knew to a seafood restaurant on the boardwalk and ordered clams on the half shell — not really a great first-date meal. I was dressed like such a dork, plus it's not very appealing to watch your date suck down 24 raw clams on a hot summer night, but that's how I laid it on."
- ...and Abbie on hers: "I believe mine was under the modular buildings in primary school. In year one or two, when I was 6 or 7. I remember crawling along the ground and meeting the boy there; it was dark, and we were nestled in the dirt. There were no kisses, a lot of silence. I think he may have pinched me ... then the school bell rang."
Abbie Cornish Wears a Bra to Talk About Her Gun-Loving Vegetarian Ways in GQ
Abbie Cornish has double the promotional duty to do with her Bradley Cooper film Limitless hitting theaters Friday and her new movie Sucker Punch coming out this month on the 25th — check out just-released photos from that film featuring Abbie along with her costars Vanessa Hudgens and Jon Hamm. She stripped down to pose for the April issue of GQ magazine, and inside she chatted about all the fun she had learning to shoot a gun for her project with Jon. She said, "I'm a vegetarian — I'm not the type to want to go shoot a gun. Then I actually got to the range and totally fell in love with an M4. It was kind of amazing."
