Eva Mendes partied it up in NYC last night to celebrate being the cover girl of Gotham Magazine's October issue. She didn't have any hot co-stars to join her this time around, but luckily Eva and her intense dress (check out those neck straps) know how to shine brightly all on their own. As it turns out, Eva told the magazine that she even had to help convince Mark Wahlberg to join the cast of We Own The Night. She said,

James [Gray] really wanted him, but Mark had a lot going on and had just had a baby and didn’t want to do it. So James and I came up with Operation Seduce Wahlberg, or ‘OSW.’ James, Joaquin, and I went after Wahlberg hard, and it worked!

We bet it wasn't too hard for Eva to charm Mark into joining the cast. As for her new film, We Own The Night wasn't Buzz's favorite, but between Eva, Joaquin and Mark, there's a little bit of eye candy for everyone.

After some newly-reunited weeks of lovey dovey-ness, Jessica and Cash were back to semi surly faces out together in LA yesterday afternoon. Not only that, but they were especially secret agent in their sunglasses and her hat. It's like the paparazzi barely even recognized them, heh. Jess has Cash to lead the way here, but in her upcoming scary movie The Eye, she plays a blind girl haunted by some seriously disturbing visions. Check out the teaser trailer here — it terrifies me.

Owen Wilson looked all sorts of huggable in that deliciously scruffy way walking around Santa Monica in a fuzzy flannel shirt yesterday afternoon. Do you like your guys with scruff? I most certainly do. His newly rekindled lady friend (girlfriend?) Carolina Cerisola wasn't by his side this time, but I'm sure another trip to the ocean will be in order soon. If she's smart the next time they're mopeding back to his place after a frolic on the beach, she'll snag this button up to get cozy in. And then never give it back — perfect "stolen" boyfriend shirt.

Jake Gyllenhaal landed in London this morning presumably to promote Rendition. Clearly he's loving the scruff these days, but Bella wants to know if you like your man with a little scruff like Jakey G? Maybe now that he's overseas he'll get a little crazy and shave before his next event. We prefer a clean cut Jake but then again, Reese seems to have a thing for guys with facial hair. Just saying.

Mmmmmhmmmm. The "Umbrella-ella-ella" singer and 30 Days of Night star took their afternoon together on TRL and made it into a night on the town. Rumor has it that the two were seen canoodling (can't help it, I love the word) and making out at NYC club, Pink Elephant last night. I guess that maybe/maybe not relationship between Rihanna and Shia is over before it even began. Well these two definitely make a hot little duo and good for Rih for nabbing him after he got rid of that stache.

The entire Affleck clan was happily reunited in NYC yesterday. Ben has been traveling around the country promoting Gone Baby Gone with his brother, but from the look of the smile on his face you can tell he is much happier to be back with his favorite ladies. He recently told Parade that Violet was “the best thing that ever happened" to him. He also said, “She is happy as hell and talks like crazy! She has the ability to make me smile and feel so good and be so charmed that, when I’m not with her for a while, all I want to do is go home, just to be around her again.” It must have been a tough few weeks for him on the road, but clearly he's back to being a happy man again.

Yesterday we saw the pictures from Penelope Cruz and Javier Bardem's steeeeaaaammmyy Maldives getaway and now that they've been outed, it looks like they're not afraid to be more public. The two were spotted together in L.A. on Wednesday night and while Penny kept herself hidden, they were obviously having fun with it. Big yays for the hot new couple. By the next morning, Penelope was on her own around L.A. looking a little less bubbly and a little more surly than she was alongside her man. Um, can you blame her? Have you seen him? Definitely grin (and drool) worthy.
