Ryan Gosling went to Bardot nightclub in LA last night for another DJing gig. Earlier that evening Ryan joined Angelina Jolie and others at the Hollywood Film Festival Awards where he presented Dustin Hoffman with the Career Achievement Award. It must have been fun to be part of such a big event but it was probably just as rewarding to work on his new hobby before getting back to work on his next film.
Gossip Girl Beauty Quiz, Episode Eight: "Pret-a-Poor-J" Oh, the drama contained in last night's episode of Gossip Girl! Hot artist boys, party photographers, Chuck and Blair's sexy tension, and the utter indignity of being stuck in Brooklyn gave our prepsters plenty to talk about. Outside of averting my eyes when Jenny got her trashy dancin' on — the girl is only 15! — I was glued to the set.
Kate Moss looked like she was in the Halloween spirit earlier today when she sported an orange and black dress to lunch with a friend. She's back in London after taking a trip last week, having reportedly traveled to Puerto Rico to shoot an ad campaign for Stella McCartney. Despite her hectic schedule, business continues as usual for Kate — the eighth installment of her line for Topshop hit stores today and some pieces have already sold out. She's never short on reasons for a party, but another successful collection calls for a toast.
Whitney Port got a manicure and ran errands in Beverly Hills yesterday in an interesting outfit. Her cropped t-shirt and high-waisted, peg-rolled khakis might be a result of this California girl's recent move to one of the fashion capitals of the world. Regardless of her outfit, Whitney is one to watch and most of you are pretty excited for her new reality show The City to start in a few months — it will be interesting to see her in the limelight. Meanwhile, Lauren Conrad was supporting her close friend by wearing a skirt from Whitney's line at an event this past weekend. It's nice to know they are so encouraging of each other considering their now-parallel lives.
Movie Preview: Gran Torino Clint Eastwood directs himself in his next movie on deck after Changeling, and he has hinted that it will likely be his last performance. The first thing I noticed was how grizzly his voice stays through the entire preview. And my first reaction was that it is dangerously close to him parodying himself. Then there's a whole lot of racial tension and a startling image of this cranky man pointing a large gun at teenagers (dangerous teenagers, but still).
After posing for photos on the red carpet, Julia Roberts, Casey Affleck, Bruce Willis, and Tom Hanks were just a handful of the A-listers who performed last night in honor of Paul Newman. Joined on stage by the children from the Painted Turtle Camp, the actors got into costume and character as Jack Nicholson narrated The World of Nick Adams. While remembering Paul was a key element of the night, there were also plenty of jokes. Julia Roberts even touched on her role in Pretty Woman and when asked about a sequel, she said, "No one wants to see an old hooker! Do they?" While Julia was busy rejecting sequel ideas, Joaquin Phoenix declared that he's quitting acting entirely to focus on his music career. Both Julia and Joaquin are celebrating birthdays today, but it seems as if helping others is top of mind these days.
