Paris managed to surprise and even offend some locals by spending the equivalent of $100 a minute, but the Deputy Prime Minister was quick to step in and declare it a good thing. Who knows why actual politicians were drawn into the minor controversy, but hey. Paris, her new BFF and Nicky are already partying their way into 2009 and maybe on Paris's list of New Year's Resolutions should be to not star in the worst movie of the year again.

The Results Are In: Celebrity Pet of the Year! Although we don't see shots snapped of him that often (except recent appearances in Vogue and on Oprah), Norman was the big winner for celebrity pet of the year! The corgi-terrier mix was your top pick and I have to agree that his face is pretty darn adoro. He's got the best of both breeds with the long, stout corgi body and the scruffy terrier hair – Jennifer Aniston's pooch is too precious!

It's been a rough year for Kanye and the paparazzi with two different incidents where it turned violent, but maybe he's turning over a new leaf for 2009. One thing we won't be doing is seeing Mr. West out partying anywhere tonight — according to his blog, he's staying in on New Year's Eve for the first time in five years to enjoy a little down time instead. Considering this hard worker says he never takes vacation, he must be pretty beat to take a break after a marathon 2008.
