David Letterman made a fairly explosive admission on his show tonight. He came clean about affairs he had with female employees and a recent extortion plot to bring it all out into the open. He got the police involved and an arrest was made today of the man who tried to get $2 million from Dave to keep quiet. The segment is super awkward since it doesn't seem like the audience knows that he's being serious and he does crack jokes throughout. The whole thing seems a bit out of nowhere, but then again there's so much celebrity scandal these days it's getting harder to actually expect anyone famous is totally squeaky clean. Well here's something I didn't see coming — while taping tonight's episode of The Late Show, Dave revealed that he was recently blackmailed for $2 million dollars. Apparently the extortionist sent Dave a letter a few weeks back, threatening to go public with information that he had sexual relationships with female members of his staff.
Dakota Fanning was on the go earlier today as she caught a flight out of the Vancouver airport. She's been up in Canada for the past few weeks working hard on Eclipse, though she's had time to take breaks and explore the city. There are only about 50 days until we get to see her in action when New Moon hits theaters, but for now we'll have to be content with the new posters for the film and our sneak peek at Dakota as the vampire Jane.
Jason Bateman and Vince Vaughn hugged it out last night at the Sydney premiere of Couples Retreat. Kristen Bell posed solo on the red carpet without her boyfriend Dax, though the couple has been taking in the sights of the city together during their downtime. Their costar Kristin Davis had to skip out on the Australian press tour, as she's probably occupied with her various Sex and the City 2 duties. Her film with Vince and Jason is a departure from the fashion and girly fun we're used to seeing from Kristen — make sure to check out Buzz's preview before it hits theaters next week.
