Courteney Cox on Why Cougar Town Is Her Saving Grace and Being Back Into Scream Mode

Even though I'm at the Winter TCA to report back to you on all the new midseason TV, I do have some news about your current favorite shows.

Even though I'm at the Winter TCA to report back to you on all the new midseason TV, I do have some news about your current favorite shows. Today I got to visit the set of Cougar Town (more on that later!), and star Courteney Cox sat down with reporters to talk about her quirky series, how it's helped her at this time in her life, how she's different from her Scream 4 costars, and her old Friends costar Matt LeBlanc's new series Episodes.

Has the show been a good escape for difficult times in your life?
Courteney Cox: Oh yeah. Thank God for the show. There have been times that Bill has said, "Do you need to take a break?" And [I say] "Are you kidding?" This is my saving grace.

Is there any chance Sheryl Crow will come back?
CC: We had fun with her! And she had fun, she said. She really liked it. I don't know, maybe!

How was it stepping back into the Scream franchise?
CC: That character is really over the top, and I just realized that was 10 years ago; all of the actors on the set, the new group, they're very subdued, kind of quiet. And I stick out like a sore thumb; I was like "Gail Weathers is back!" Like, are they going to talk any louder at all? They are very cool, and I'm older, and not as cool. But I stepped into my character; we'll see what happens. Dewey was Dewey! But then, you know, people have changed. People are cooler than me.

Is it true that there will be more Scream films after this one?
CC: There is going to be a Scream 4, 5, and 6. [But] I don't know anything.

Natalie Portman picked a peephole Vena Cava dress last night for the LA premiere of No Strings Attached. She hit the red carpet without fiancé Benjamin Millepied, but her costar Ashton Kutcher was happy to pose next to his Carven-clad wife, Demi Moore. Her daughter Rumer Willis smiled solo just ahead of today's release of her new Badgley Mischka ads. We caught up with Ashton as he headed into the screening, and he said unfortunately Natalie's on her own when it comes to parenting tips since he really only knows about kids older than 8! Their castmate Greta Gerwig said, though, she was thrilled about Natalie's surprise pregnancy and revealed that the mom-to-be is an amazing vegan cook. Greta kept company with a green-clad Lake Bell and Mindy Kaling, who summed up the evening by tweeting, "It's not gonna get much cuter than tiny Natalie Portman, pregnant."

Christina's boyfriend, Matthew Rutler, wore his own set of ears to join them in celebrating Max's third birthday at the Anaheim amusement park. He's been a staple by Christina's side for the last few months, including a cute outing during the holidays. It looks like their relationship is heating up since Matt apparently even moved in with Christina.

Ed Westwick stepped out of his trailer today on the snowy NYC set of Gossip Girl. The Big Apple's still digging out from its latest Winter storm, but that didn't stop Ed and costar Penn Badgley from returning to work. Blake Lively took the day off so she could join up with The Town's director, Ben Affleck, and the rest of the cast for lunch following their stylish reunion at last night's National Board of Review event. It seems Blake's not the only one with big-screen aspirations, as Ed just landed a role in Leonardo DiCaprio's upcoming J. Edgar Hoover biopic. Blair, Serena, Lonely Boy, and the whole crew will be back on the small screen with fresh episodes on Jan. 24, and you can expect to see a few new faces among the privileged Upper East Side crowd — get up to speed on all the hookups and drama by taking Buzz's midseason quiz!

The Winter TCA is underway outside LA, and last night was Fox's turn to show off their talent and upcoming shows. The Golden Globe nominated cast of Glee attended last night's party, and Cory Monteith took a moment to chat with Buzz about his new Funny or Die video and working with Gwyneth Paltrow. Bones duo Emily Deschanel and David Boreanaz dropped in on the party, as did Hugh Laurie and Lisa Edelstein from the medical drama House. Cory's costars Chris Colfer and Matthew Morrison were back together this morning to join Conan O'Brien and How I Met Your Mother's Jason Segel and Neil Patrick Harris for the Funny Men in TV panel. When asked about Glee airing right after this year's Super Bowl, Chris jokingly replied, "What's the Super Bowl?" For more details from the conference, make sure to stay tuned to Buzz!
