A newly shorn Tom Cruise wore a white t-shirt and jeans today as he got into character on his new film One Shot in Pittsburgh. The actor, who was filming a driving scene in a red Chevelle, stars in the big-screen adaptation of the book by the same name. Tom plays an ex-Army cop who is sent to investigate a sniper shooting in the heartland and lopped off his previously lengthy locks to ready for the role. Before getting to work on the action film in Pennsylvania, Tom spent several months down south in Florida, where he was playing a musician in Rock of Ages. Tom let his hair go long while he was busy portraying the tattooed singer. His wife, Katie Holmes, gave his edgier look her stamp of approval at the time. Katie and Suri visited Miami several times to catch up with Tom during the shoot, and the family took advantage of his recent break between projects to hang out at their homes in LA and NYC.

Jennifer Aniston left her NYC apartment today dressed for whatever weather came her way! Wearing a white tank, Jen looked equipped for Summer, but she was armed with a sweater for cooler Fall temps too. It's been a big week for Jen, who debuted her latest directing project, Five, on Monday and also cozied up to boyfriend Justin Theroux during an intimate portrait session with pal Terry Richardson. It's not the first time Jen and Justin posed for their friend, since Terry snapped one of the first public photos of Justin and Jen back in June. Hopefully, Justin will be on hand in LA on Oct. 17 when Jen's honored at the18th annual Elle Women in Hollywood Celebration for her achievements in film.

Gwyneth Paltrow was out in NYC yesterday on her 39th birthday with her kids Apple and Moses. Seven-year-old Apple toted a Hello Kitty purse while 5-year-old Moses was content to play with two toy figurines. In honor of Gwyneth Paltrow turning 39, we took a look back at some of the highlights from her jet-setting life. She marked the occasion by having a special dinner on Monday with husband Chris Martin and their pals Jay-Z and Beyoncé Knowles. Jay-Z and his pregnant wife sat down for a Spanish meal with Gwyneth and Chris at Tertulia in the West Village. Gwyneth was happy for all the love on her big day. She tweeted last night, "Thank you for all of my happy birthday wishes, just read so many. You guys make my life great, thank you."

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt took their children Pax, Zahara, and Shiloh out to shop at a costume store in London today. It was the latest fun outing for the Jolie-Pitt kids, who had a playdate with Zuma and Kingston Rossdale earlier this week. Hanging out with Kingston and Zuma wasn't the only recent excitement — Brad and Angelina let Zahara pierce her ears! According to reports, Shiloh had originally planned to do the same but changed her mind after seeing how much the procedure hurt her big sister Zahara.

Kristen Stewart and Chris Hemsworth stormed a beach on horses today while on the Welsh set of Snow White and the Huntsman. Yesterday, a solo Kristen wore metal armor for a foggy afternoon of shooting. While Kristen's riding off into the sunset, her boyfriend Robert Pattinson made his own journey. Robert arrived in Toronto last night and is rumored to be meeting up with his Cosmopolis director David Cronenberg. Kristen and Rob have work obligations taking top priority at the moment, but soon the pair will be able to spend time together when they begin promoting Breaking Dawn: Part 1.

Heidi Klum posed with a bottle of her new perfume, Shine, today at the Mondrian Hotel in LA. The scent is the supermodel's first foray into fragrance, and we chatted with Heidi at the celebration about her latest business venture and her life at home with Seal and their children. Heidi told us she was inspired by some of her childhood memories as she worked to develop Shine, including the smell of lilies of the valley, which she used to pick when she was a little girl in Germany. She also said Seal weighed in on the scent and that she asks his advice on everything style related. Of course, we couldn't resist asking how the fashionable couple are collaborating for Halloween this year. Heidi and Seal's annual Halloween party is practically legendary by now, and the pair pull out all the stops each year with their getups. Heidi said this year's costumes are currently being made, and while she wouldn't tell us exactly what or whom she and Seal are dressing as, she hinted that they'll both be "a little hairy." George Clooney strapped on a backpack on his way into a building in LA this afternoon. He was apparently headed to a photo shoot, which would just be the latest in a long string of press for his movie The Ides of March. George premiered the project in LA last night with costars Ryan Gosling and Evan Rachel Wood, and he also had his new girlfriend there for support. George and Stacy Keibler kept their distance on the red carpet, just like they did earlier this month at TIFF, where Stacy posed for photographers solo while George chatted with reporters. George got close to another lady, though, when he and Marisa Tomei went skinny dipping during a recent trip to his Lake Como villa.
