Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner started their morning with a coffee stop in Brentwood, and later in the day, Jen was carrying her infant son, Samuel. Samuel carried a doll as Jen helped lift him out of her car while they ran some errands. Ben has been enjoying a relatively low-key week since attending Monday's Casting Society of America awards, where he picked up an honor for his latest film, Argo. The movie topped last weekend's box office but will have some tough new competition this week when Disney's Wreck-It Ralph and Denzel Washington's new drama, Flight, both hit theaters. Jennifer has been taking some time off of work since the release of her films Butter and The Odd Life of Timothy Green earlier this year, but she's reportedly close to starring with Matthew McConaughey in The Dallas Buyer's Club, his upcoming drama.
Taylor Swift and Carrie Underwood shined on the Country Music Association Awards red carpet, then headed inside Nashville's Bridgestone Arena to honor the genre's best music of the year. Carrie shared hosting honors with Brad Paisley, and the duo ran a joke-filled show that even included a "Gangnam Style" spoof. Neither Carrie nor Taylor ended up taking home a prize, but both took the stage to perform. Faith Hill, Tim McGraw, and Nashville's Connie Britton and Hayden Panettiere were on hand, too.
Many stars were thrilled with their victories. Miranda Lambert got emotional when she and husband Blake Shelton won song of the year for their duet, "Over You." Blake was the evening's biggest winner with a total of three new statues, and was also crowned entertainer of the year.
Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis are in the middle of a romantic vacation in Australia, and last night, they hit the town in Sydney for dinner at Three Blue Ducks in Bronte. It's a popular choice for celebs, since Mel B and her husband, Stephen Belafonte, also dined there. Today, Ashton and Mila were out again continuing the sightseeing. They walked from Bondi Beach to Bronte Beach, showing PDA along the way. Mila took photos during their stroll, and even made Ashton strike an occasional pose. Ashton and Mila were just in LA before heading Down Under for their getaway. He's on a break from shooting Two and a Half Men, and Mila's got time off from the set of The Angriest Man in Brooklyn.
The annual CMA Awards got rowdy last night! For cohosts Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood, the fifth time was certainly a charm. The veteran MCs were on point during their opening monologue, although Carrie did have to break some tough news to Brad about Taylor Swift's latest ex-boyfriend, Conor Kennedy. Drew Barrymore and Will Kopelman stopped by a home store in LA yesterday. Drew was sporting the darker hair that she debuted at LACMA's Art and Film Gala over the weekend. At the bash, Drew and Will hung out with pals Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux and mingled with other stars like Cameron Diaz. It was Drew's first official event since giving birth to her daughter, Olive, in September. She's been out and about in the weeks since, though, and was also seen grabbing lunch with Will and the baby last week. Drew is not only focusing on motherhood, but it looks like she's also working on a new project with news that she plans to launch a makeup line for Walmart early next year.
The X Factor filmed live in LA last night with judges Britney Spears, Simon Cowell, Demi Lovato, and L.A. Reid. The group was tasked with each cutting one member of their team, though Simon had to ax an entire group. Demi was the first to whittle down her team to three, and in doing so, ended Willie Jones's chances in the competition. Next, L.A. said farewell to David Correy, and Britney cut Diamond White from her squad. Britney was visibly torn over the decision to drop a contestant, saying, "They're all like my children." Simon closed out the evening in a dramatic fashion by sending girl group 1432 into the final 12, while another group, Sister C, were sent packing.
The X Factor's second season has been full of shakeups, and even though the show's already been renewed for a third season, rumors are swirling that Britney's still undecided about returning in 2013. Did one of your favorites go home last night?
Matthew McConaughey turns 43 on Sunday! The last year has been a big one for Matthew. He married his longtime partner, Camila Alves, and they also announced they're welcoming a third child soon. They're already parents to little ones Levi and Vida. Matthew's career is in high gear too. Fans loved seeing him shirtless in Magic Mike, and there was more Matthew on the big screen in Bernie, The Paper Boy, and soon, Mud. He's also been dropping the pounds for a starring role in The Dallas Buyers Club.
