The Independent Spirit Awards are tomorrow, and to celebrate, we're taking a look back at highlights from over the years. The show has evolved from a casual beach affair into a full-blown award season event as it falls one day ahead of the Oscars. Some of our favorite actors, like Angelina Jolie, Johnny Depp, Ryan Gosling, Heath Ledger, and Michelle Williams, have attended and even been honored for their work in independent film.

Eva Longoria wore a revealing Cushnie et Ochs dress to host famous friends like Victoria Beckham and Kate Beckinsale last night in LA. The Desperate Housewives star gathered her famous pals to her Hollywood restaurant Beso, where Vanity Fair and Chrysler cohosted a bash benefiting the just-launched Eva Longoria Foundation. The mission of the Eva Longoria Foundation, the actress wrote yesterday, "is to help Latinas build better futures for themselves and their families through education and entrepreneurship."

Eva's small-screen costar Felicity Huffman arrived arm-in-arm with husband William H. Macy, while other couples like Mario Lopez and Courtney Mazza, as well as Roslyn Sanchez and Eric Winter, made the rounds. Venus and Serena Williams stuck together, too. Kate, who just received the Lacoste Spotlight honor at Tuesday's Costume Designers Guild Awards, wore a hot pink McQueen dress.

Victoria's home in California after a busy few weeks of fashionable travel. Victoria was decked out in a blue dress from her own Fall 2012 Victoria Beckham collection, which just hit the runway during New York Fashion Week. Posh also traveled to London to celebrate her two lines, including her lower-priced Victoria, Victoria Beckham, at Harvey Nichols. Victoria's back, but it seems David Beckham is off traveling with the LA Galaxy. David Beckham went out in Tucson with his teammates, enjoying a recent dinner of wine and steak at the city's Sullivan's Steakhouse.

Kate Winslet wore a sequin gown on the red carpet at the César Film Awards in Paris this afternoon. She's receiving an honorary award at the show, which will be presented to her by Carnage director Roman Polanski. The evening's host, Guillaume Canet, also posed for pictures on his way inside, though he was without his partner, Marion Cotillard, since she's currently filming alongside Joaquin Phoenix in NYC. Kate did have her significant other, Ned Rocknroll, along for the trip to France, and the couple were seen arriving at the Ritz earlier today. Kate most recently popped up in NYC for Fashion Week, where she attended multiple events as the face of St. John.

Jessica Biel threw on an All Saints jacket to visit the NYC set of Inside Llewyn Davis yesterday. Her fiancé, Justin Timberlake, started filming the Coen brothers movie alongside Carey Mulligan on Wednesday, and he was back on location in a puffy jacket this morning. Jessica stopped by his trailer between scenes, though she wasn't sporting her engagement ring. She apparently showed off the rock at an SNL party over the weekend but has yet to debut the sparkler publicly. Despite remaining quiet on the news, Jessica and Justin are wedding planning with reports that she'll wear Monique Lhuillier and they'll hold the event at a private estate this Summer.

Kristen Stewart stopped by Balenciaga's West Hollywood boutique with her publicist Ruth Bernstein yesterday. Kristen, who is the face of the company's new fragrance, was dressed down in a yellow tank and her usual sneakers, but it looks like she picked up a dressier outfit since the duo left with a garment bag.

Kristen returned home to LA earlier this month after a quick trip to Paris, where she posed for a feature in an upcoming issue of Vanity Fair. Her boyfriend, Robert Pattinson, is also back on the West Coast following a stop at the Berlin Film Festival to premiere Bel Ami ahead of its March release in the US. Rob and Kristen have been staying under the radar, but they were spotted showing PDA at a friend's birthday bash recently. They'll have more opportunities to party as a couple in the coming days since there are multiple events taking place as LA celebrates before this Sunday's Oscars. Rob and Kristen have both attended Vanity Fair's annual post-Oscars fete before, so we'll have to wait and see if they make another appearance on the star-studded evening.

The highly anticipated Star Trek 2 from director J.J. Abrams began production earlier this month, and Tuesday we got a glimpse of two of the film's stars, Zachary Quinto and Zoe Saldana, filming green-screen fight sequences in LA. The sequel, now scheduled for a May 2013 release, has been delayed multiple times due to scheduling conflicts and setbacks with the script. We do know the main crew is returning with Chris Pine, Anton Yelchin, Simon Pegg, John Cho, Zoe, and Zachary resuming their positions within Star Fleet. Newcomer Benedict Cumberbatch, seen fighting with Zachary, is also joining the ranks, though no word on his role — are you getting excited for the sequel?

Since 2009, the stars have been busy with other acting projects. Most recently Zoe debuted The Words at Sundance with boyfriend Bradley Cooper while Chris teamed up with Reese Witherspoon and Tom Hardy in the romantic spy thriller This Means War. Zachary did some work on the small screen playing a ghost on FX's chilling primetime drama American Horror Story.
