January kicked off 2013 with plenty of celebrity excitement! From the 57th presidential inauguration to the start of award season, there was plenty to keep stars busy. Kate Middleton unveiled her royal portrait, Jennifer Aniston shared a bikini-clad getaway with fiancé Justin Theroux, and Kim Kardashian and Jessica Simpson both announced they are expecting. It shouldn't be too surprising that New Girl star Max Greenfield, who plays the frequently shirtless Schmidt, keeps up on his fitness. After all, no matter how great an actor you are, you can't fake a six-pack. So today, we jumped at the chance to join a charity spinning class at LA's SoulCycle — hosted by Glamour magazine and benefitting Milk + Bookies — with Max as the instructor. After a punishing 45 minutes fueled by Max's own playlist — and a break to catch our breath and towel off — we chatted with Schmidt himself about going half-naked on camera, the strangest workouts he's tried, and last night's big moment between Jess and Nick on New Girl.

• PopSugar: There are so many weird, trendy workouts in LA. Have you tried anything really weird in the past?
  Max Greenfield: I haven't tried Zumba or anything, but there was this yoga class I did in Brentwood, that was all like a yoga class to spin music, so they'd put on loud dance music — but it was a yoga class. It was totally ironic, but it was kind of awesome.

• Tell me a little bit about staying in shape. How many of Schmidt's shirtless scenes are your idea and how many are Liz's [Meriwether, New Girl's creator]?
  MG: Zero are my idea. We have to do 24 episodes, so the idea that I have to stay in really good shape for that long? It's really impossible. So I just ask that I get a week's notice. I'm like, just give me a week. I hate it when it's sprung on me, because all of a sudden, you're at craft services, and eating your 40th chocolate-covered almond, and Liz comes up and goes, "Hey, we've gotta do this reshoot of you in bed with Hannah, and you guys are both totally naked." That literally happened to me the other day.

• So does that mean we're going to see you guys in bed together soon?
  MG: Potentiallly, yes.

• OK, what about this kiss between Nick and Jess last night? When did you guys in the cast all find out that was going to go down?
  MG: Wasn't that awesome? It was really cool. It was really good for the show. It was one of those, like, big moments. It wasn't in the table-read draft, and then all of a sudden it found its way in . . . and I think for us, it was like, OK, good, about time!

• When are you going to do another GOOP? Do you know what it's going to be about?
  MG: I don't know. I gotta find a good topic or experience I can write about. I don't want to do them too often, but I do love doing them. I have a really good time with them.

• I also want to know: when are you going to host Saturday Night Live? I think we need to start a letter-writing campaign for this.
  MG: I don't know. I can't even think about it. I would love nothing more. I'd quit afterward. But no, it would be so much fun, but it is a difficult thing to wrap my head around.

Matthew McConaughey and Camila Alves stopped by a bakery in New Orleans on Monday. It was an extraspecial outing for the couple since they were celebrating Camila's 30th birthday. She tweeted about the milestone, saying, "Today I am 30 years old, Livingston is 30 days old, and I'm blessed with 3 healthy children . . . I am so thankful and full of joy!" Camila's heading into another year with her growing family, which now includes Livingston, who was born in December. Camila debuted Livingston during a park outing over the weekend after also spending time with her older children, Levi and Vida.

The now fivesome is currently living in Louisiana while Matthew works on the HBO series True Detective and the location also happens to be the home of this year's Super Bowl. Matthew has attended the big game in years past, though we'll have to wait and see which celebrities step out for Super Bowl XLVII on Sunday.

Nicole Kidman arrived in Sydney yesterday with her daughters, Faith and Sunday, and her fellow Aussie actor Russell Crowe. Nicole and her girls got picked up at the airport by Keith Urban, who showered Nicole with kisses before whisking the actress off so she could get ready for that night's AACTA Awards. Russell, meanwhile, helped Nicole usher her kids out of the airport and headed home to prepare for the award show, which he hosted. This isn't the first time that Nicole and Russell have spent time together this week — they also hung out at the SAG Awards on Sunday. Nicole attended the show solo while Keith stayed in Australia for his tour, which will take him to North America this Summer.

Nicholas Hoult, Teresa Palmer, and Dave Franco celebrated their new film, Warm Bodies, with a glamorous premiere in LA. Teresa, who wore a black lace Philip Armstrong gown, chatted with Nicholas at the premiere's afterparty and shared a cute moment with John Malkovich, who plays her father in the zombie romantic comedy. She was joined by her costar Cory Hardrict and his wife, Tia Mowry, and model-turned-actress Analeigh Tipton who wore a stunning Barbara Bui dress.

At the premiere, Nicolas spoke about his X-Men costar and ex-girlfriend, Jennifer Lawrence, who most recently picked up a SAG Award for her highly acclaimed performance in Silver Linings Playbook. He admitted to being "very proud" of Jennifer so far and hoping that she wins an Oscar. Reese Witherspoon and her husband, Jim Toth, brought baby Tennessee along for an outing in LA yesterday. Jim held his baby boy in his carrier as Reese led the way for her boys. It was a family affair for Reese, who has been stepping out solo recently. Yesterday, Reese shopped around Beverly Hills, and over the weekend, she picked up takeout. Her downtime may not last long, since Reese has multiple projects in the works. Mud premiered at Sundance, Devil's Knot hits theaters in May, and it's rumored that she'll add The Good Lie to her list of upcoming films.
