Every year, when my family gets together for the holidays, we have a tradition of eating a big dinner, followed by a trip to the nearest Target. It's a chance for us to flex our bargain-hunting muscles, walk off our meal, and bond in our own weird way. Because of this, the store holds a special place in my heart and has turned what might be a mundane shopping experience into a fun and meaningful one. Every time I step through the red sliding doors, whether I'm with my family or on my own, I'm instantly reminded of the promises that lie within: incredible deals, hidden treasures, and an all-around good time.

Since we could all use a little break from the holiday chaos, I'm sharing a few reasons a Target run serves as the perfect mini getaway.

There's nothing better than indulging in a decadent drink while you shop. I always head straight to the Starbucks counter and pick up my favorite holiday beverage to fuel my impending aisle-hopping.

When your list includes a beauty-obsessed sister and a techie boyfriend like mine does, it can be hard to get all your gift shopping done under one roof. But between the hot deals section at the front of the store and the rows of fancy gadgets at the back, I can score small stocking stuffers and big-ticket items alike, all for unbeatable prices. Plus, thanks to the aisles of pretty tissue paper and holiday cards, I can wrap up my present-buying spree in one trip — literally.

And pick up a little something for myself, too

Of course, no Target trip is ever complete without scoring something special for yourself. From cozy Winter staples, like a chunky cable-knit sweater, to on-trend accessories, like a pom-pom-topped beanie, I never fail to find at least one thing I'm excited to bring home.
