Candy Buffet Ideas

A Totally Sweet Party-Favor Idea

Sure, nothing is sweeter than a great party, but the right treats can make a fun event even better. Whether you're planning your wedding, a baby shower, or just a simple get-together, wow your guests with a colorful candy display. Color-coordinated goodies help liven up the party and offer a great way for guests to snack and mingle. Here's how to put together this fun table full of treats:

  1. Start by collecting an assortment of clear, glass vases in different sizes and shapes. Cheap vases can be found at Michaels and Ikea.
  2. Pick out a bunch of candy in the same color or a couple complementary hues; think of it as an extension of the party's decor. For an easy fix, head to the candy aisle at Target or a drugstore; for the best selection head to your local candy shop or shop online.
  3. Fill the vases with the candy, one sweet per vase.
  4. Stack cute goody bags or to-go containers next to the candy.
  5. Invite guests to fill a container full of their favorite sugary treats!

I am a wedding planner in California who has helped brides create a candy bar for their weddings with huge success! Guests love it and it makes for a beautiful display that can be color coordinated to match your decor. Happy planning brides!

I disagree with the person who said it is overdone. I think it's a great idea. Who cares if someone has seen it at other weddings/parties. If you like the idea then you should do it. :-)

I just went to a wedding where they had this. The bride said she saw it in a magazine. It's definitely a cute idea, but the candy got everywhere!

does anyone know the name of the tiny orange candies at the back, near the right of the picture? i used to buy them in a chocolate shop, in a pick & mix section, but they don't sell them anymore and i never found out the name ):

I lot of weddings do them now, and they call it candy buffet. I would love to have one in my wedding (if budget permits). But instead of doing a candy buffet, I'd probably do dessert buffet.

I saw this idea at a few weddings I attended over the summer. Most of them weren't monochromatic, but (as a previous poster suggested) went with the wedding colors. I think it's a really fun idea. People turn into little kids while they're putting together their loot.

oh.... oh this is really bad, now i'm about to go to the store and buy like every single pack of reese's... i want candy.

I am going to do that at my wedding reception with the colors of the weddings. Will have someone set out the candy "jars" once everyone has entered so they can grab some on their way out! (must include personalized M&Ms of course!lol) But party, while this is a great post, I thought of it before you posted it! :-P (well okay, i saw it in a bridal magazine lol)
