Walking up and down the aisles filled with school supplies gets my daughter and me excited about all the different options to choose from for the upcoming school year. I remember pestering my mom for packs of puffy stickers, metallic notebooks, and the perfect daily planner to keep me up to date with all my assignments. But in true grade-schooler fashion, my favorite pencils inevitably got lost, which had me thinking about ways to keep all my daughter's newly purchased school supplies together. Here are five creative ways to personalize everything so she always knows what's hers.

Color Code

While at the store, think about picking up all your child's school supplies in the same color so they stay together. You can also pick up letter stamps to use for adding her name to the items, which helps her grab the right folder every time. It's a more visually appealing way to label her supplies than simply writing her name in black marker.

You can also print out family pictures and glue them onto the fronts of folders and book covers, which is a fun activity your child can do on his or her own. Create a collage of pics or stick with the same image for all of the school supplies.

Mark It

Mark It

Use a marker to create a colorful pattern alongside the spine of book covers or at the top of folders that catches your child's eye. Help her create one or use a stamp to do it yourself. It's a simple and vibrant way to organize school supplies.

04
Use Colorful Tape

Use Colorful Tape

Have your child select a printed washi tape to use for covering the ends of pencils, tops of pencil cases, or even the outside of marker packs. It's a quick visual clue that reminds her which materials to reach for. Enlist your child to help with the process so everyone gets excited about heading back to school.

Make It Sparkle

Use a permanent marker in either gold or silver and a cute stamp to mark all glue bottles, rulers, or pencil sharpeners. Place the stamp on all the school supplies, even backpacks and lunch bags, to make it your child's special trademark.
