What Our Beauty Editors' Moms Want For Mother's Day

Every editorial product is independently selected by our editors. If you buy something through our links, we may earn commission.

I was recently gifted a set of sea monkeys that I immediately killed, and ever since that tragedy, I've gained a newfound respect for the mother who has kept me alive for the past 23 years. Along with making sure I was fed, happy, confident, and well-read as a child, my mom was also my first beauty muse.

Many of my fellow editors agree that they've learned some important makeup, hair, and skincare lessons from their mothers. If we're experts, then they are, too. Here's what our moms think yours will love to unwrap on May 13.

Chanel Lip Gloss
Anita Demopoulos

Chanel Lip Gloss

"Chanel Lip Gloss ($30), of course! The colors are so fresh and can be used alone or with your favorite lipstick. After application, you really feel like you've done something good for your lips." — Anita (mother of Alaina, editorial assistant, Beauty)

Facial Rejuvenation
Janet Johnson

Facial Rejuvenation

"I would like to have a laser treatment and peels done on my face and neck, along with a little Botox. I think it would freshen my face and give me a little pep in my step, so to speak, and help me feel closer to the age I feel on the inside! And I don't think there's anything wrong with fine-tuning things about yourself as you age." — Janet (mother of Kirbie, host and senior video reporter)

Aveda Shampoo and Conditioner
Aimee Williams

Aveda Shampoo and Conditioner

"I would have to say the Aveda Smooth Infusion Shampoo ($22) and Aveda Damage Remedy Conditioner ($30) I started using. The smell is so calming and I love the feeling of fresh, clean hair. I could definitely use some new bottles." — Aimee (mother of Macy, assistant editor, Shop)

Tarte Shape Tape Concealer
Janice Carrollo

Tarte Shape Tape Concealer

"I could use a restock of my Tarte Shape Tape Concealer ($27). I really like it; it's very full-coverage and great at covering imperfections (like dark circles) as I age. My daughter says it's what all of the 'beauty bloggers' are using these days." — Janice (mother of Carrie, assistant native editor, Beauty)

Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche Lipstick

Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche Lipstick

"I got a mini Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche Lipstick ($26) as a free Sephora birthday gift and now want to get a full-size tube. I prefer a dark lip, and this formula is creamy and pigmented." — Janice

NYX Retractable Eyeliner Pencils

NYX Retractable Eyeliner Pencils

"I love NYX's Retractable Eyeliner Pencils ($5). They're extremely easy to use, and I love the way the color lasts. I like that I don't have to sharpen them, too." — Janice
