Blue Ivy Is Beyoncé's Mini Me With Matching Burgundy Hair in the “Spirit” Music Video
We knew we'd love Beyoncé's "Spirit" music video before even watching it. But when the video finally dropped last night, we were completely and utterly blown away.
The video for the gospel-pop ballad is both a visual and musical masterpiece, complete with sweeping landscape shots, an opening sequence featuring Swahilian singing (which is a nod to The Lion King's African roots), beautiful choreography, and a surprising guest appearance from Beyoncé's 7-year-old daughter Blue Ivy. Maybe we shouldn't be so surprised, however, seeing as Blue accompanied her mom on the red carpet for the movie's LA premiere. The duo walked the red carpet in complementary outfits, their hair both in cornrows — Beyoncé's braids were styled in finger waves and Blue Ivy's were worn half-up in two high buns.
It looks like that appearance was a hint of what was to come. For Bey's "Spirit" music video, mother and daughter wore not just similar lilac-colored dresses, but they also wore their beautiful curls brushed out and dyed a rich shade of burgundy. It's not often that you see Beyoncé experiment with bold hair colors — she typically sticks to golden highlights against a warm chestnut base — so seeing her go red for this video was a nice surprise.
But this is a Beyoncé music video, so of course burgundy hair wasn't the only amazing beauty moment. We spotted her wearing superlong blond hair, intricate braids, and lots of glimmering highlighter and shiny lip gloss, which we're going to assume come from the Sir John x Luminess Beauty The Lion King makeup collection. We'll have to wait and see if Sir John (Bey's makeup artist) will reveal the beauty breakdown for the video, but until then, you can keep reading to see all of the best beauty moments in Beyoncé's "Spirit" music video.
