Honestly, we expected there to be some pretty outrageous beauty looks on the Met Gala red carpet thanks to the theme (read: winged eyeliner and poppy-painted pouts). However, the highlight of this year's red carpet was spotting all the Asian-inspired hair accessories. The headpieces ranged from the extreme (Sarah Jessica Parker's flaming fascinator) to simple and subtle (Diane Kruger's white blossoms). As you flip through all the detail shots from the event, you'll see how the stars played up the theme with botanical baubles and gilded crowns. Get a close-up view of every comb, chopstick, and clip that came down fashion's biggest red carpet when you continue.
Wendi complemented her side braid with a couple bronze flower barrettes — one at the base of the braid and another near her part.

It's obvious SJP won the award for best headpiece on the Met Gala red carpet. It pulled many different elements from the Chinese theme like flames, flowers, and tassels.
To give her Hollywood curls flare, Georgia added a hairpiece of blue flowers just over her ear. The teal color coordinated with the designs on her dress.
Blair was obviously in competition with SJP for the most extravagant headpiece of the night. Her floral arrangement by L'Olivier Floral Atelier was a mix of Spring colors and diamonds.
Alicia added a purple floral pin to her mohawk hairstyle.

Lady Gaga obviously pulled inspiration from peacocks for her beauty look, from the feathers on her cloak to the temporary tattoo on her breast. Her headpiece represented the regal bird, too.
Lily has become a red carpet favorite for her classic Audrey Hepburn style. For the Met Gala, she tucked her blunt bangs underneath a simple veil and added a bright tangerine lip.
