Katy Perry is the latest celebrity who's thinking pink (hair). Like Kim Kardashian with her bubblegum strands and the Alexander Wang models who put rose quartz locks on the map, Katy recently made the switch to a Barbie-esque hue.
We're digging Katy's inspiration: cherry blossoms she saw blooming during the Asia leg of her Witness Tour. As Katy captioned her Instagram post, "Fell in love with many different cherry blossoms from Tokyo to South Korea, so [stylist Rick Henry] and I decided I should become one." Per Rick's coordinating caption, "It was time for a PINK KITTY." Truly, pink kitty time is all the time.
We love how Katy went matchy-matchy with her flamingo eye shadow, blush, and lipstick because all-pink everything is truly a lifestyle.
This is just the latest hair switch-a-roo for Katy, whose long, black strands used to be her signature. The "Chained to the Rhythm" singer first chopped and dyed her hair into a bleached pixie in March 2017. Back then, fans hinted that the style could be Katy's version of the cliche "breakup hair" since the look came after her split from Orlando Bloom. However, she was quick to note that the bold new look was a choice made for herself and herself only, thank you very much.
The CoverGirl ambassador has rocked the same platinum hue since the cut. This foray into fuchsia marks her first departure into a new hair color in over a year. Predictably, it's fabulous.
