So This Is How Kerry Washington Got Her Hair So Smooth For the SAGs

After experimenting with voluminous curls and clip-in highlights, Kerry Washington played it straight (literally) with her hair at the 2017 SAG Awards.

We got a glimpse of this when Kerry was getting ready with Takisha Sturdivant-Drew. The hairstylist shared an Instagram video of herself blowing Kerry's hair with a Dyson Supersonic Hair Dryer. She used it like a wind machine in a hair commercial, and Kerry played right into it, clearly feeling the glam moment.

"When I saw her Roberto Cavalli white dress I was truly inspired to go with a very simplistic, chic and smooth hairstyle with a long middle part and some slight color to highlight the hair," Sturdivant-Drew said in a press release. "I felt like the strapless and form fitting dress had a very 70's look to it that was effortlessly sexy."

She conditioned Kerry's hair with Neutrogena Triple Moisture Deep Recovery Hair Mask to get it soft and shiny.

And while the dryer made for a fun social media moment, it was actually used for function. "This blow dryer is great because Kerry is all about the health of her hair and doesn't like a lot heat on it at all," Sturdivant-Drew explained. "This dryer prevents her hair from getting damaged by extreme heat because the temperature stays under control so it won't damage the hair."

TSDHair extensions gave Kerry extra length and fullness for a more dramatic red carpet moment. The sleek, center-parted hair allowed her sexy eye makeup to steal the spotlight.

Kerry's striking makeup was done by Carola Gonzalez for Neutrogena. "I wanted to make Kerry look sexy, fierce, and classy," Gonzalez said in a press release. "I felt this look went hand in hand with the hair and Roberto Cavalli's dress. I always aim to create a different look at every red carpet event Kerry attends and the creative process is always fun when you are working with someone who loves to take risks. . . . I wanted Kerry's eye makeup to look fierce, classy and dramatic, with an edge."

To get that smoldering eye, Gonzalez used Neutrogena Nourishing Long Wear Eye Shadow + Built-In Primer in Smoky Steel with Neutrogena Nourishing Eye Liner Cosmic Black.

This is definitely a gorgeous look to try for your next eventful night out!
